Not sure if this can be determined through a video, but Singaporean renovations just look so perfect. Like their workmanship is on a different level. One thing about the skirting, I think it serves a purpose as it gives some protection for the wall. I was exploring this kind of approach and I found that it's easy to have marks on the wall from brooms, foot traffic, furniture. You mentioned that the wall (with the accent lighting) is totally flat, and you mentioned that there's an lighting, it indicates that it is a partition plaster wall. This kind of wall is much easier to reach a perfect finish.

if you want minimalist home as per magazine/online video/instagram photos, get ready cash la cause the number of small perfections you need to achieve that look is insane. Wall evenness, ceiling evenness. Even when if you are just replacing a door, the ones that fit the look will easily double in price compare to those that you think "ok la". Even like those glass dividers that separates yard and kitchen, glass that give greenish hue and glass that don't have the green hue is at different price category. and the width of the frame, the thinner it is the more expensive it gets. Its these kind of tiny things that give the "perfect look". i used to have 小红书 aka the little red book, checking out ID on that is ADDICTIVE. I had to uninstall it cause that app is literally sucking out my soul, i just keep swiping for more posts. 😂 that's where I had my first realisation that I probably really live on a tree.. why other people's washer dryer combo is sooooo compact and capable 🥲 and smart toilets 🥲 and mini washers that can be mount on wall 🥲 why is our hood and hob looking like 10 years ago tech 🥲 why is malaysia's apartment smaller than a country that supposed to be more packed than us? 🥲 and their storage tips 🥲 why are malaysia developer eliminating yards?? i can do balcony-less so long as i get a good size window i can make my own tatami corner by the window, i cant live without yard.

The amount of $$$ younger generation spent on renovation these days.... it does not make financial sense but more of a YOLO and bragging rights mindset, I suppose.... The Reno looks great when it is new.... I wonder whether the excitement would fade after 1 or 2 years... The microwave oven fitted at that height is so impractical.... why does a household need 2 ovens? Youngsters in Singapore don't cook or bake so frequently.... the "balcony" bench by the window is so gimmicky... But I really salute the ID for the overall work done.... great job well done... 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Yup, not only it interferes the flame, it also affects the effectiveness of the kitchen hoods. Initially I have the fan pointed to the cooking area to cool down the heat while cooking, but now I redirect the fan to the prep area. Even that, it's another problem on it's own. :D

Digital lock, doesn’t run on power but battery which can last anywhere from 6 months to 1 year, and doesn’t reset when battery dies, it has a micro usb port on the bottom which allows you to provide temporary power to enter your pin or fingerprint to open the door and change the battery, most will warn you a week or few days before that you need to change the battery whenever you open the door it will show or beep at you, and it also has a high security override key for emergencies so nothing really to worry about more secure than traditional lock.

The Smart Home system, if you suddenly no power which I don’t think happens that often in sg, then you turn on the lights, pull the curtains manually, its at the end of the day its still manually useable, but you get the connivence once you open the door your lights turn on aircon turn on, at night press on button next to your bed all turn off.

Smart home is practical. It can do alot of stuff. For example once you open the door the setting that you prefix will switch on you fan, lights A/C curtains and stuff like that. And also just say " Hey google im going out" All the appliances will switch off automatically and will trigger the home security functions and also will be able to set the robot vacuum to start vacuuming the house while you are at work. Butttttt it will take time for you to adapt to the process. What i mean is we are use to physically switching off / on the lights., so it will take sometime for our brain to register that we now have a smart home instead. That what happens to me when i first turn my home into samrt home.

1 thing I learned when renovating/decorating houses/condos, I wouldn't spend so much on tech items coz it gets outdated very fast, and I'll invest more on better quality things that can last longer and easy to maintain. The fluted ceiling looks nice but how do you clean it? Better to have at the lower area like the island or certain section on the wall. Just my 2 cents from my own experience...

Of course lah, Singapore have home reno loan, which are similar rates to mortgage rates. Also, because cars are so expensive in Singapore (the COE... ), so most Singaporeans splurge on home reno instead (just like how we Malaysian insist we should get one car per working adult). And is it practical to spend 20% to 30% of the property value on renovation? I think this couple probably have deeper pockets than most, because they didn't plan out any extra space for future kids, so high chance is when the times come, they are going to upgrade to a bigger unit again. (Not every Singaporean can afford to do so).

Hi, love your property review video. Will be getting a new property for my family soon. I'm always thinking why would anyone want to hangout in mamak? It's hot humid smells and loud. Can't even have a comfortable conversation with the person you care. Maybe Starbucks and other foodchain is a lil better. But and how much time are you able to sit there? Unless you want to brag about your newly bought whatever car that is parked right in front of your table at the mamak to the tables around you. The kitchen part im also using the Blum lift system as well, sometime you just need to keep the door open at all time while using the kitchen (because of stained hand), you are using conventional swing door, your head will be constantly evading the opened door while you are walking around. Also I can understand why she 'celebrate' the fan because it is not really possible to install a ceilling fan in a narrow closed "I" shaped kitchen. Even if you were to install a ceilling fan, either the cooker flame be put off or the hoodo won't be sucking the smoke effectively. Putting a stand fan also take up some space that will definitely block you moving line. Slimmer dyson fan will also takes up space on the floor and on table. I also have one smart tong sampah from Xiaomi for kitchen waste. It works great for hands free operation, esp during food prep. just that the consumable is not exactly cheap. Ok la, that's me and my small kitchen. And because of that my fridge is also placed at the dining hall. And speaking about the fridge, I'm not sure if the floor plan shown on the monitor is what the robot vacuum mapped or that's the Samsung Family Hub require. That's why I also spend most (if not all) of my reno budget on kitchen.

You always on look out. Focusing on finer details. Everything seem awesome but not so sure about those kitchen drawers. Especially dealing with liquid/sauce leaking over the countertop. she looks like she went thru enough xiaohongshu content 😂 antiformaldehyde is THE trend in China, and for people that like wood stuff (like floorings, cabinets, decorative finishing) they need to ensure air ventilation is good at all times cause formaldehyde build up is real and carcinogenic. when i uninstalled the very addictive app, the trend at that time is ceiling to floor wardrobe, and they were targeting like less than 1cm gap so the wardrobe/cupboard door looks like wall panels.
