I'm still living at home, and this area of work interests me greatly. I've also heard that you can't get a BTL mortgage for your first mortgage, so I'm really struggling as to how I can get into the property game. If anyone has any suggestions for a beginner I'd appreciate your help. Thanks again for the informative video!

Strictly speaking, if your intention is to flip the property from day one, then you probably shouldn't get a mortgage because they are seen as long-term finance products. However, in your case if it is your first home, you should certainly be speaking to a good mortgage broker to explain the situation and see what options are available. As long as the property is habitable (ie. has a working kitchen and bathroom, running water etc regardless of condition) then you could potentially get a mortgage on it so there may be some options there for you. It's also not necessarily the case that you can't get a BTL mortgage for your first mortgage, you just might find that there are more limited options, or slightly higher rates as a first time buyer/first time landlord.
