God gave us wisdom, this makes sense... Some church pastors profess to prophesy over people and it's completely wrong on every level making situations worse. I remember one time the holy spirit told me there are things happen in churches and the Wider world Satan had nothing to do with. Self will and self pride was what brought him down so he stays clear of those. But he can do what he wants with humans who deliberately walk into his territory by the door of those two unholy qualities.

your life needs to be established on Gods word and the Holy Spirit. The word does say write the vision down and also says He brings all things to our rememberance and that we have the mind of Christ. While I don't spend much time listening to the news channels I do some so that I know what to pray against. If I didn't know what the word said before hand I wouldn't necessarily know what to pray without praying in the Holy Spirit but the word also says I will pray with the Spirit and I will pray with my understanding also.
