Lesson 2: The Purpose Of Prophecy

The word Comfort means to bring Solace too comfort in times of grief or worry. : something that gives comfort. solace.

The Basic of Prophesy is threefold: Edification, Exhortation and Comfort

This is what we need often to keep us going because as the beliver you will face challenges in life just as every person does. And when you get these inspired words they are Supernatural Words that releases you into a realm of breakthrough, into a realm of victory that makes you really unstoppable. It keeps you moving forward, it keeps you uplifted, it keeps you strong, it helps you to overcome anything that would come against you that would break you down and something that is very very Supernatural Apostle @ John Eckhardt

As Believers we are not called to tare other Belivers down. We are called to build them up. If you want to build people up and make them strong you should desire to Prophesy Apostle@ John Eckhardt

Sometimes when people hear the term Prophecy they think of someone just predicting the future Apostle @ John Eckhardt

The Second purpose of Prophecy is Edification and Exhortation. The word Exhort means to encourage and the word courage literally means to give encourage too

The basic definition of Prophecy or the purpose of Prophecy is found 1 Corinthians I Corinthians 14:1 NKJV Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

All prophecy is based on the "word" of God that we already have.

The third thing that Prophecy does he that Prophesy speaks unto men is 1. Edification. 2. Exhortation and 3.Comfort Apostle@ John Eckhardt

But the basic definition and purpose of Prophecy and why we should desire it is found in 1 Corinthians 14

I Corinthians 14:3-5 NKJV But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

Apostle Eckhardt, what do you do as a prophet of God and your pastor keeps coming against you? He likes the atmosphere I bring but when I speak God's truth about another leader that he loves but this leader teaches philosophy, not the Gospel. What do I do in this situation?
