What are the pros and cons of living in Calgary in 2022? Let's talk about the Pros and Cons of Living in Calgary Alberta today!
Calgary Alberta is slower paced city, but it is in an AMAZING location, with it's full list of things to do! Calgary is home to two main colleges, so you do have a bit of a younger scene here, but there are plenty of things to do and places to eat here in Calgary Alberta.
Calgary has lots of parks and trails and it's proximity to the mountains makes it a really great place to go walking and exploring. It is a newer city, which is really nice with some beautiful buildings. It makes for a great day or even a weekend out!
That being said, because Calgary is a growing city, it does have its fair share of traffic from all the new construction happening here, so that's something to keep in mind as well. Overall, it's an awesome city with Calgary being awarded the honour of being the fifth livable city in the world, ahead of cities like Vancouver and Toronto. The municipality maintains this ranking by consistently working on its health care, education, and cleanliness, making it a desirable place to live in.

Great video. Also very interesting that you came from the UK. I live in Manchester but lived in London before. I’m considering moving to Calgary in a few years

One of the things that is great about the city is the development of shopping areas in close proximity to living areas. I also read that there is a hyperloop shuttle between Calgary and Edmonton in its developmental stage

Hi Adriel; Enjoyed your video. I'm originally from Tottenham (I know 'nuff said. lol). Moved to southern California and later lived in Calgary (Hillhurst & Parkdale), from 1972-`80. Now at retirement age, any recommended town or? to live w/in 80 kilometres from Calgary? W/thanx, John

Hi! Not sure if you are able to help with this, but I am from Toronto but am considering moving to Calgary. How can I do this? what laws or things must I know? Registering my car, etc.. If you are able to help that would be great!

Hi @latina1223, thank you for reaching out! There are a few things to consider. You have 90 days to register your out-of-province vehicle. Before you can do that, you’ll need to get it inspected first (approx. $140). In terms of purchasing a property only 5% downpayment is required, there is no land transfer tax like there is in Ontario, no HST. It is very straightfoward. Nothing to be scared of my friend, more people are moving to Calgary from all walks of life. I’ve been here 10 years and I’ve never had any problems. Now I’m not saying it’s perfect, I’m sure other people have had different experiences but it’s still fairly safe compared to other major cities.
