NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE is a beautiful small town and we were very tempted to move there. In this video, we will show you the PROS and CONS, and tell you why we didn't end up moving there. We will also show you the types of homes you can get for your money.

Currently living in Brampton (😝😝😝 unfortunately) and living here will definetely be an upgrade. Someday this will definetely be an option to relocate to. Thank you for your informative video ☺

I lived in Brampton for 30 years. Moved to NOTL a few years ago. A LOT of tourists, especially in nice weather, but I do not miss the big-city headaches.

We were saying the same thing! Niagara-On-The-Lake is beautiful. Why isn’t the city of Niagara Falls as pretty- it has so much Natural beauty but the city not so much! We hope to have a video about Niagara Falls up later today.

no actually, NOTL was destroyed two decades ago by Toronto people moving there... its a dump

We just subscribed! We have no intention of settling down anytime soon, but we are always on the lookout for places we'd consider (mostly outside of the US). This one got our attention since we originally are from Buffalo, New York. My sister mentioned going to an ice wine festival a few years ago, but that was my very first time to have heard of them! Good luck on your search!

We’ve been watching your videos too! We plan to check out Europe in 2024. At some point we will pick our favorite place to live either full time or as snowbirds.

@@ShouldWeLiveHere We found you by your subscription to us! Before we became full-time travelers, we had our hearts set on Verona, Italy. We are rethinking whether we'd actually want to live there through the winter since we froze in Lecce in early February. Do you have a list of criteria for what's ideal for you? Also, do you have a deadline you have set for yourselves to make a decision?

@@FindingGinaMarie We are still in the early stages of looking. We haven’t set a deadline but suspect we will look for 3-5 years. We don’t like snow but are open to 1/2 year in one place and 1/2 year in another. We like a place that is walkable. Affordable is a big plus. When we visit a place we try to envision how we would spend our time there. We really loved Mexico City as it had so much to do and many places we could volunteer. We still need to try spending longer periods in smaller beautiful towns to see how it feels.

As someone who actually lives here, I can say for certain parking is tough, but only in the downtown area. The rest of NOTL doesn’t look like downtown but still very beautiful with vineyards and orchards across town! Definitely very expensive to live here though

The average price for housing is anywhere from 900,000 - 5 million with the highest being around 15 million!!

Yes it is very expensive but very beautiful. It is unfortunate more cities and towns aren’t as walkable and well planned.

@@ShouldWeLiveHere Is NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE walkable, if I visit without a car? Also, is there anywhere to swim?

@@camelliam.4235 It is walkable in the historic downtown and nearby residential areas. Some people swim in Lake Ontario, but I would not. There is a public pool in one of the nearby small towns.

I LOVE NOTL!!! It's absolutely STUNING BUT LOL, it's wayyy too pricey to live. If you have $2million +++ for a home, go for it. :)

As seniors, we love the LOOK of NOTL... and it isn't even the price that deters us. It's all those tourists and busy-ness all summer. We looked at one Heritage home on Queen Street that has street parking all around it. We don't care for that idea... but we understand the need. So we're looking elsewhere, but staying in the Niagara Valley area. We're really quite sick of -40 in the winter... and winter staying forEVER, like it is this year... but when we move this time, we want it to be the final one.

We certainly agree with you about the winters! We liked some homes in Pelham but it isn’t as walkable as Niagara on the Lake. Be sure to keep in touch and let us know where you pick.

@@glengratto I never said I live in NOTL or anywhere near it. I live in Alberta where -40 is not unusual all winter long (+40 is also not unusual in the summer). As for liking the look of NOTL... it's very pretty and I love the little shops. However, I've lived in tourist places and they weren't the best to live in. So... we're looking in the area, but not in NOTL. As for Florida... no thank you.

....everyone commenting is either not from Niagara or they have visited. Niagara-on-the-Lake today is a mere shadow of the healthy community it was before the onslaught of Toronto folks came there. It is now such an over-developed craphole it truly is sad. I thank "Toronto" for once again ruining everything as well as raising my taxes. Much appreciated. Oh, and stay home ffs
