GA drivers love to, at the last moment, go from the far left lane to the turn right lane cutting everyone off and potentially causing accidents. They also are SOOO slow off the line on a green light and slow getting up to the speed limit. But then they start speeding and may pass you up until you get to the next light.

Rents and jobs?,planning to move from NYC rents are highest here
@movingtooklahomacity
@movingtooklahomacity Жыл бұрын
I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Rents will obviously be much lower than in NYC. You can expect to pay anywhere from $0.85-1.50/sq.ft. Depends on area and size, of course 🙂. Jobs? Well, this area offers many different types of employment. Engineering, education, medical, oil and gas, government, tradesman/journeyman, restaurant and service industry, law, farming, entrepreneurs and business owners, etc. People do all kinds of things here!

I actually lived in Tucson for a few years 🙂. The climate is quite different. It's dry here in the winter (lots of static!), but definitely humid in the summer. It's not super humid like the deep south or like Illinois/Minnesota/Wisconsin area, but the air does get puffy for a few months.

Crest is probably our largest option across all areas. Depending on other locations, we have Costco and Sam's Club, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Aldi, Homeland, Walmart, of course. We have a Kroger warehouse where they do grocery delivery from. Honestly, the grocery stores are a bit of a disappointment here compared to other places I've lived as it's hard to find everything you want or need from one store. We do have some good ethnic options, though!

WHY IS IT SO DAMN HIGH TO BUY A HOME
@movingtooklahomacity
@movingtooklahomacity 10 ай бұрын
I know! It's not what it used to be. Like everywhere else in the U.S., home prices have skyrocketed the last two years and Oklahoma is no exception. But the average home price for our area is still $240K, which is low compared to other states. We have homes to suit every budget ☺

You have lots of time! I would start your search once you're within six months of moving because the market conditions - interest rates, housing availability - will change. If you have opportunities to visit, the best you thing you can do while you wait is get acquainted with the different areas within the OKC metro. Then you'll gave a really good idea of where you want to be ☺.

Actually I grew up in southern ca. Home prices here are higher depending on what you are looking for. Oklahoma has severe summer heat and it can still be 80 degrees at christmas! The drivers here are dangerous and inconsiderate! Sorry but I just have not experienced these pros you talk about.
@movingtooklahomacity

The average home price in Southern California is over $800K. That's certainly more than our average home price in the metro area of $240K. If we're comparing property apples to property apples, prices in SoCal are definitely higher. According to weather records, Oklahoma has never been than hot on Christmas. That's okay if you don't agree with my pros! Thanks for sharing!
@vcook9710
@vcook9710 10 ай бұрын
You will notice I said it depends on what your looking for. Also 73 is the hottest recorded Christmas. Let’s be honest that’s close enough. All of Oklahoma is not the same depending on where you live. Come try to buy a house in my area..Good Luck to you! I guess if you are bringing so-cal wages you might be ok. My advice would be for everyone do do there own research and form their own opinions based on their experience and life style needs. I don’t find alot of your info accurate,but everyone is different. Please don't move here. All the manufacturing and energy sectors of business have left. There are not enough liveable wage jobs here, and the city planners didn't build the highway system to handle anymore idiots on the road than we already have. Housing has also doubled in cost both buying and renting in the last 5 years. Also remember real estate agents are piintless so dont listen to their b.s.
