Today I outline the best and worst points about the NB Mazda Miata/MX-5 while driving my own personal Mazda MX-5.
Please note that the Mazda featured in this video is a 2 door, 5 speed manual with a soft top and a naturally aspirated 1.8L 4cyl engine.
I post to Instagram and Facebook before my videos upload. Be sure to follow both of them using the links below:

The "Slowness" is less of an issue in the UK with our Narrow roads. Narrow roads gives out a greater sense of speed. Different story in the US however.

Yes it’s slower but you will still hit the speed limit because it can go 200 km/h

I mean you can definitely get the car a little over a 100 stock so I mean you can get in trouble with it and being rear wheel drive you always have a little giddy feeling to clutch kick and drift so it is really possible to get in trouble with one of these

Owned this exact yr and model for 9 yrs, loved it. The cons listed are not a big deal for me. The speed is an ego only thing. You cannot use the power wanted anywhere without risking life and limb. This car is all about balance and handling and easy to drive.

I've daily-driven Miatas since 2000, and there haven't been a half-dozen occasions when it wasn't big enough for what I needed. Also, once you have two or three children you may find, as I have, that though they get along well enough at home in the living room, they always fight like cats 'n' dogs the minute you got them all into the car together for a trip to the grocery store or whatever. Never had that problem with my Miatas, though! With only two seats, either you take only one kid at a time, in which case no hassles, or else one of them had to get in the trunk, in which case at least they couldn't argue with each other.

I have the exact same car... except it is left-hand drive (north American). I LOVE IT! Well built and dependable car. I store it in the garage during our cold Minnesota winters, and take it out in mid-April through September when it is warm. Thanks for posting and God bless!

this power thing, everyone seems to think they have no power. the MX-5 is in the tradition of the british sports cars of the past. light weight, small engine, low to the ground, gear box & driver. with 5 or 6 speed transmission & staying on peak car should be able to keep up with pack. if it's a windy road you may only see the pack once. be careful. due to their looks & size they attract road rage sufferers. & most important - enjoy the ride...

This 2000 1.8 l is our 2nd Miata after our original 1990 NA. It is simply FUN, especially since anything but multi-lane freeways are chosen. The cargo space is better than the NA with both spare tire & battery mounted lower for improved lower C of G. We do travel all over western Canada with it, since my wife tells me that any new jewelry I buy her on the road-trip won't take up much room!
