I’ve also tested the M40i motor in the M440i sport coupe and it is certainly quick and something to consider if you want more performance. The X3 M will also take performance and exhaust sounds to the next level. But for most families, getting close to the base model with sDrive or xDrive30i will be your best bet. The Convenience package offers some good value but look through the premium package to see if there are any options you find to your liking.
When compared to other SUVs in the class like the Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC, I find the X3 and Q5 offer the highest quality interior and smoothest engine experience. I also think the X3 is better value vs the larger X5 which I discuss more in this video as well as my full review. BMW has another advantage in terms of leasing. I highly recommend going on to the leasehackr forum and finding a broker you can work with that can help you with ordering an X3 with the packages you want at a substantial discount.

Just bought this car. It's my first BMW and I love it! I had a 470hp Charger and was wary of going to this 4-cylinder engine, but it does not disappoint. Gas prices are currently through the roof now, so I am thankful for the better gas mileage. Overall, this car's looks, features, comfort, and performance make it a real pleaser. Thank you for your video!

I just bought the same model too. I came from a 2012 X3. This is so much better. I was hesitant since my previous X3 was a six cylinder but this thing is quicker than I expected. Love all the amenities. My next move up will be to an X3 M40i 🤞🏼

You have to give it up to BMW, they have a knack for making crossovers that don't feel or drive like a crossover but a sports sedan which is unique to BMW's brand exclusively that's why you pay the big bucks!

Great review! I’m coming from 2020 X3 to the X3 LCI and this upgrade is amazing. Glad to see you compared the two model years. It does drive differently and quite noticeable in pick up and ride than MY2020.

Kevin, nice presentation of this vehicle. Hard to believe that $47k (let's just say $50k with the AWD) is a good value, but that is the state of the car market today. Over a 7 year loan, that's ~$700/month? Wow. And in 7 years, this car will be worth bupkus, which is equivalent in this case to $10k. Wow. Hard to trust a 4cyl twin-turbo for a long life, but no one thinks about that when they feel the rich Corinthian leather and see the BMW roundel. The rule of thumb for all European cars (in the '90s, or 2000s) used to be to sell at 90k miles and avoid the end of warranty and all the bits and pieces that became expensive fixes. It could be that the engine is now suspect at 100k too. Turbos don't last forever ... but then again, what does? ( a faint voice in the wilderness whispers ... "Lexus" ...) I do believe this is the top of its vehicle class (along with Audi) (Porsche is its own class), and I understand that MANY people want to be in this class, but it is very hard to reconcile what the masses appear to desire versus what looks smarter to me. I can buy a beautiful used LS430 with 150k miles for $12k right now. I suppose the reason that deal exists at all is that the masses don't want it. Either much of the world is backwards, or I am. Doesn't matter, really ... but I guess it's me. The BMW 5 series, whether in SUV or sedan form, always seemed like a ship without a harbor. They're just not that roomy inside, agreed, for the extra $. OH, BUT THE EXTRA PRESTIGE. I guess that's "real". Again, nice review of what's out there. Still shaking my head at the price point for a jacked up small sedan.

Thanks and yup inflation is just out of control, 30k is the new 20k and 40k is the new 30k. Finance is out of the question for 90% of new cars, lease and dump only

Yup that would be your best bet. Luxury cars just depreciate too much to keep long term and they make so many changes and advancements every 3 years

Out of all you said regarding the X3 Kevin what resonated with me the most was the height of that particular vehicle, as you noted for some it being low has it's pros & for others has it's cons. I'm bipolar I think when it comes to the X3 for this precise reason, on the one hand the low profile definitely has it's advantages like being more aero-dynamic & fun to drive but on the other side of the coin I prefer high riding vehicles like the Land Cruiser & Ranger Rover because you feel like the boss & can see the entire forest in spite of all the trees. So in that respect I wish I could have both depending on which mood i"m in that day...P.S. the X3 i would classify more as a cross-over than a genuine SUV...CHEERS!

You do and excellent job on your videos brother keep up the good work. I own 2020 330i xdrive I just talk to my wife into getting the 2022 BMW X.3 we are trading a 2016 Infiniti QX 60 she wanted 2022QX 60 but don’t think we need anything that big with all the kids grandkids are too big and they hardly ever ride with her anyway. she test drove the X3 loved it but she’s not sure how it will respond in the snow during the winter time I told her she will be just fine.

I bought mine 5 months ago. For the life of me I still cannot figure out the setting for AC/heat 😒. Other than that, I'm enjoying it.

Good to know. My mother was shopping in this category. She was torn between the Mercedes’ glc or the BMW X3. She wasn’t a fan of Audi, also there wasn’t many to choose from due to the chip shortage. In the end she decided on the BMW X3 M40i. Think she’ll be happy

Hi Kevin, Does X3 sDrive30i has Adaptive cruise control & Lane Keep assist as standard feature ? I couldn't see any driving assistance package as well while building this car?

Unfortunately the driving assistance package is not available for the X3 30i is only available for X3 M40i, and regarding the adaptive cruise the specs sheet says dynamic cruise control whatever that means, however when i did the test drive i tested for that since i had the same curiosity as you and it doesn’t seen to have adaptive cruise, i though maybe i was stupid and couldn’t figure out how the system works but other reviewers have confirmed that indeed it doesn’t have adaptive cruise, and there you have it.

They dont do the 30i in the UK. Only 30d. Very disappointed but they'll force me to go with the new GLC 300 instead unfortunately

Hi would you recommend getting an xdrive over an sdrive? I am in Arizona. We don’t really get snow but we do get heavy rains during monsoon season. Would you say the sdrive is safe for rain or would you recommend xdrive? Thank you!

Yea Sdrive is fine for rain tires is what really makes the difference in rain and I really like continental tires for that reason. The main reason to get XDrive is to add some weight back into the vehicle to make the X3 a bit more stable. And it helps a little bit I recently tested an X3 AWD and it was better than this sdrive to drive and it helps with your resale value

I’m in a 2018 X3 m40i and looking to trade in for new before expiration of warranty. I was considering downgrading to the 4 cylinder - do you think I’ll be disappointed in the performance? I really don’t push the m40i much but it’s nice to have that extra Hp when needed.

I was about to say yes you would be disappointed because the M40i for 2022 is a rocket 🚀 and so was yours honestly. But since you know yourself and are aware you don’t push the vehicle, then yea you’re saving a lot of coin by going with the 4 cylinder and a bit of fuel economy gain I guess I’m sure you can find one to test somewhere that would be ideal

I test drove an x3 versus X5 before purchasing the 2022 X5… The x-3 road much rougher the seats were not as plush and comfortable and it was noisy. The space behind the rear seats was much greater in the X5 when measuring the width, length and height. The difference in msrp price for a loaded X5 versus a loaded X3 was about $12,000 greater. The amenities and comfort conveniences were much greater in the X5 . For example the tilt and telescope steering wheel in the X5 has memory for the two different drivers where there is no memory in the X 3 because it’s a manual tilt and telescope. The upgraded Merino leather in the X5 doesn’t even have a comparable option in the X3. And the X5 has the comfort access seats that allow adjustments to the upper half of the backseat separate from the lower half. Besides all of the factual which is a much longer list than I presented here, I find subjectively the X5 very sexy and the X 3 very stubby. No regrets spending the extra $12,000

I was also debating between the two, until I sat in a GLC and realized it's just "plain Jane". The lower model GLB is miles better than the GLC, and BIGGER! But I ended staying with the X3 (I currently have a 2019). I ordered phytonic blue with tacora red interior...can't wait for delivery next month!!

Good job as usual. Does the Sense Tec vinyl seating cause sweating during the hot weather? I see the seats are perforated but not ventilated. I sat in one at a car show with the Vernasca leather, and it is a horrible cheap feeling , terrible product that I would not consider.

The sensa tec is actually better quality and feels way nicer than the real leather, i'm from Florida and currently own a series 3 with the perforated sensa tec and is great, currently in works to trade in my 3 series for the X3.

Aaaarrggh should I get the BMW X3 or Genesis GV70?? My husband and I finished paying off our 2019 Honda CRV…..and we were dumb to test drive the BMW X3…..let’s just say we’ve kept thinking about the car since….lol Or should we just keep the Honda CRV? But……you can’t really go back after trying our luxury one afternoon lol

Oh wow if you finished paying off a 2019 CRV then I would just keep that. Trust me that BMW will feel boring after 6 months. Getting out of debt is nice especially to have a paid off car that’s great on gas and is still amazing to drive. Watch some Dave Ramsey videos might help you forget about the bimmer

@@MeynMotorGroup Oops….misquoted WE’RE ALMOST there paying off the CRV. We only have about 8k left to pay. We just got a real good price from a Honda dealership wanting to buy back our car that’s in pristine shape and they’re willing to pay the car for more than we bought it for actually and we scored a REALLY GOOD deal with an BMW X3. Funny you mention Dave Ramsey…..we have absolutely no consumer debt… just the bit of car debt. We completed financial peace university when we were newlyweds.
