The Summer in Maryland as a whole is always mild, hot and buggy.

I lived near this area, when a kid in 60s & early 70s. We had no AC in our large house, just a whole house fan. Spring lasted through late May 60-75 degrees Summer slowly climbed into the 80s, and a couple weeks in Aug it would be high 80s low 90s. By the 2nd week of Sept it was back into the 70s. Humidity was in the mid range, but many summer thunderstorms cooled the temp down, and then days of drier air. By the early 80s all that was gone. Now Mild winters, with a few days of below 20 degrees. Summer is attacking by mid May, and through Sept. October it starts to cool down. Autumn is the best season.

I grew up in the north east area of Silver Spring. Worked as a tractor/mower repairer when in high school 1970s. We always hated to deal with the people in Potomac. New money, big cheesy houses, too self important We preferred to go to Old Chevy Chase. (old money) not flashy, not nervous about their status, most did not put on airs, often got a nice thank you and or tip.

Potomac is lovely and a great area. I grew up there. Drawbacks are yeah bugs and hot summers. But honestly the summers didn’t bug me all that much. Like warm evenings. Winters can have some cold crappy weather. I’m in San Diego now. It’s just as expensive as Potomac (my area anyway) but you get way less land and it’s more crowded. But you have the beach and amazing weather year round.

Hi Jamie! I think it’s gotten hotter here since I grew up 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. I’m sure SD is lovely!
