Awesome Ride Man!!!! The collar lift is what I am concerned about, the Pre Mature - bottoming out on suspension droop is my main concern with adding an extra inch or two for lift as I want to take my Tundra SR light roading, but do not want to compromise ride quality, I might just stuff larger tires on it and call it a day! I would have loved to see a equally modded out Tundra ride with you guys and see truck for truck the difference. The midsize trucks have their advantages, but if you carry a large amount of goods, the Twin Turbo V6 in a full size might be the way to go! lots of good options in any case!
@TRDJon

Yea there were no full sized trucks with us at all. Bit tight of a trail for sure! The kit is good for light off road and road use but anything really more than that it will be ok but you definitely would need to consider a full suspension setup.

Hey dude! When you are in the “customize gauge section” you need to press the arrow to the outside of the screen. So either left or right depending on which side you are trying to customize. @JF-lt5zc
@JF-lt5zc 3 ай бұрын
Um. Why were you hauling the factory spare around? Extra weight, no use at all if you are carrying your matching spare. If it were me, I'd keep the spare mounted upright on a locking mount against the cab or parralell with the wheel well. And you could us some sort of bed storage system for your mis things? This is the confusing point to me on the TRD Pro/Trail Hunter trims. The cab is not large enough to use for much storage, the bed is too short for real truck use (hauling loads, bikes won't fit, etc). The target audience for these trucks is off roaders (supposedly). It seems to me that a 4Runner or Land Cruiser would be the better choice for that duty. More interior space, better suspension (5th gen 4 vs 3rd gen taco at least), waaaay cheaper, and overall, built for purpose. Anyway, great vid with some good pros/cons.
@TRDJon
@TRDJon 3 ай бұрын
Yea I plan to do that for sure. Cuz the tire carrier I have too lowers the suspension too much due to the soft coils. I took the tire out for my recent trip. I keep it for the longer trip in case i got a couple tires punctured in MOAB

the low end torque of the 4-cyl is going to make it a classic and highly sought engine for many years. Low end torque is why people love those old 4runner V8 and that was totally lost with the weak V6. Now you can have the best of both worlds: light engine with low end torque. A true masterpiece of modern engineering. ...now shame the truck itself is so overpriced however. The USD to YEN is very favorable for toyota to consider lowering prices....but no! greed must rule.

Great video Jon! Too bad this vehicle is an absolute fail for the price. I think we all knew that when we saw the unveil last year. Toyota has really missed the mark on the Tacoma and likely the 4runner. As usual keep us posted but Tacoma is at this point over
@TRDJon
@TRDJon 4 ай бұрын
You can probably negotiate them down since more are out and available not. The average Tacoma price is around 40K.

@@TRDJon I've given that some consideration and visited wilson toyota in Houston to test drive and check out but overall for the tacoma concept (coming from an 04) isn't quite there with the 2.4, Mexico build, overall design and price. For some this might be a great truck but for someone like myself that is constantly in deep snow in Iowa or offroading in South Dakota or Wyoming this new build just isn't going to cut it without a lot of upgrades. Regardless thanks for the great videos! Your channel is always very informative and great to watch!

Tacoma. I enjoy off roading a truck more than an SUV.

@@TRDJon I actually sat in a Tacoma yesterday.. I feel i like the set up more than my 22 Tundra. Felt comfy. The only thing is. it is hard to justify paying close for a Taco TRD OR as my Tundra Sr5 TRD OR. lol

Question @ 8:55, what if you deflate the tire so much that it would fit if squeezed in and simply purchase an air compressor to top it off? Would that 33.8 or even a 34 inch tire fit in there?
