"will always accuse us first" Actually, credit card companies are pretty good at accepting this risk because it's good for business. The only time I lodged a complaint it was my error and the credit card company wasn't going to fight it. I had to message them back and tell them I now recognize the transaction. Credit card companies have to be more forgiving because they don't already have your money locked up the way that the banks do -- even if they are part of your bank.

Thank you for this video. I had no idea about fliper0, so this is a revelation. My wife regularly uses very crowded buses to get to work and people are literally pressed up against you, an ideal environment for stealing credit card data. I will purchase the blocker for both me and my wife. Thank you again.

not sure on that one- I would play safe and expect all cards to be able to be read, be a bit like war driving or scanning for ESN's but a lot less risky to carry out.. I bet if an amplifier was used in the loop the range would increase quite a bit

Do you know even if you have a couple cards with chips together that they can't lock on one card, and it's not possible to readout any data? I have seen a yt video long time ago, they have testet it, even a not used what ever card would work with a chip in it. I have all my cards in a metal case with included not working ones. And it is possible from far away to read cards, they have it done in the past, search for it in the net, I don't remember anymore Wher it was.

try using your wallet without opening it. Ask the checkout person if you can try. I have a few credit / debit cards in my old leather wallet so the scanner does not work when I tried it, I think it can't get a clear signal for extracting the data.

I own a Flipper Zero and you can indeed partly copy NFC from credit cards, but have you ever tried to pay with Flipper? I don't think so because then you know that doesn't work.

I wonder how many of these blocker cards being sold on Amazon actually work? According to some of the 1 and 2 star reviews some blocker cards do nothing.

Good summary of the dangers. I would add: don't put your wallet (or phone for that matter) in your back pocket - too easy for pickpockets. Maintain your personal space if possible - difficult sometimes. lining bags with tinfoil may trip some stores shoplifting alarms - embarrassing ;-)

You say they have to be "close", but you don't say just how close! One metre? A quarter metre? Ten centimetres? At what range can Flipper Zero work?

I use a metal business card holder that I bought in a charity shop for a couple of quid. It's not quite as convenient as a lined wallet though.

I kind of disagree wiith you about people being close to you to get your card numbers. You are more prone to get you card numbers stolen by a slimming device on the care reader

I used blocking cards in the past before getting a wallet that is proof against these attacks, I actually tried scanning my card at a pos once using the card blocking and wallet so I know the blocking works 👍

Recently went into a 7-11 for a paper and coffee. Someone went in right behind me. I didn't realize how close they were till I turned and ran into them. I have all my cards in RFID protectors. They got nothing.

It is incorrect that electronic scanners like Flipper Zero, can read bank card data from the magnetic strip on the bank card, to read the data from the magnetic strip you would need to have access to the card and use a swipe card reader, or us a skimmer at a point-of-sale terminal. 2. It is incorrect that electronic scanners like Flipper Zero, can read bank card data from the bank card chip, the bank card chip can only be cloned with chip skimmer, but most will only work one time, with the way the chip works with the point-of-sale terminal. 3. Flipper Zero can only collects data from the bank cards that has Near-field communication (NFC), us NFC Key Fobs, modern passports & modern tachograph cards use them too!

Flipper Zero can read credit cards if they are in your wallet and the card supports contactless payment which most cards do, whether it can't read the chip or strip is irrelevant, its information to keep people safe and these products will do just that. I know because the card blocks the signal
