Thank you for the reply Steve! Much appreciated I didn’t know they made them for the bike. That’s definitely worth it! I use old bed sheets & put the waterproof plastic cover over top. I have the same bike as you but black. 8” speakers & all. If you ever come up to Michigan give me a shout!!! Beer is on me for all the time you put into these videos!! Thank you Steve you the man

I ordered these a couple times now and I’ve been very satisfied with the overall quality. Ease of install they are soft zero damage to your finish even at highway speeds over long distances . I used them for several months I ride quite a bit and if you ride 600+ miles a day you’ll always get weather and I’ve got more invested in my speakers than my lids are worth. So i wasn’t looking for cheap I wanted quality. I noticed over time they did become less effective at repelling water . But for $40 bucks just buy another set . I always turn off the rear speakers when I used them. Note to self always tuck the front and back even part of the sides inside the lids an close the latch . Made that mistake on a 15 hour ride of hard rain on the interstate at hwy speeds these move a lot they will come off . Lost a set . I’ve tried the Genuine HD leather covers they hook n latch using Velcro an the Velcro attaches to areas that the speaker is mounted to . So they fit like sht awkward take up more room in the bags when not in use and allow water to get inside the speaker . Tried the cheaper ones and some that cover the entire bag (damage to paint) and I agree with this content 100% it’s the best option I’ve found for slipping on an off and protection .

I bought some Hogworks covers from J&P cycles. Very nice. You can pour a bottle of water on them and it repels every drop. $40 bucks. Saves my Hertz 6x9 bag speakers. Good investment, a must have

just picked up a set of covers after watching your video. I am in the midst of upgrading my street glide speakers, trying to figure out what speakers to go with. I've seen big debates on marine vs new speakers with plastic cones. Am going to do 4 speaker set up, fairing and speaker lids, I just picked up CVO bags and 6x9 lids for my 2018. Audio guy quoted me for Rockford Fosgate harley kit set up, the speakers just seem that they have really small magnets to me (like i know anything about speakers, lol).

yeah the fosgates are usually pretty small watt speakers and these audio guys throw them out there like hot cakes because we all know the name and they are easy to profit from. Check out the Ground zero 6x9s and use the covers. I stay away from anything marine grade...you can cover them and that opens up a whole new market of speakers for you.

Hey Steve, Love my advan extended bags and fender extension i am so very interested in the new Rockford fosgate sub 14 kit for my 14 sgs in mysterious red sunglo Question is are the interior of your bags same as harley stock bags ??? Steve awesome as always. Can you suggest a good pair of motorcycle boots? I am looking for something not like the traditional square toe Harley. they need to be slip resistant, light weight, water proof. better yet what do you wear? Thanks again.

Hey man...im actually in the same boat you are. I have been checking some out on Get Lowereds website they have a lot of shoes and boots. I was wearing my Harley boots but man they are heavy by the end of the day...had them for 8 years now...This last year I ordered black Leather Converse high tops. The old "chucks" Loved them but they sure dont last long. Not waterproof either. Im still shopping though.

Im running all SP Audio in the bike...the ones in the lowers are the 6.5 Products MIDRANGE NEO MAGNET EXTREME SP6HM-NEO ..there is a dude in Hawaii that can get these , hes about the only dealer I know for SP as they are out of Italy. Nice video. I put two extra speakers in the inside of my fairing (06 Road Glide). I have been searching for water proof/water resistant speaker grills. Do they exist?

im not sure there are waterproof grills on the market however you may get some speaker material and waterproof it yourself and put it between the speaker and the inner fairing. That may work pretty good.

Just catching up on some of your videos. I have a question, did you put the Arlen Ness air cleaner on for looks, or does it help performance at all?

Hey Bob the AN air cleaner is an open air cleaner...you will have to have an open air cleaner for a full stage one...open air cleaner, aftermarket non restricted headers and slip ons and a tune. So in combo with the other 3 things yes it is a performance upgrade.

@@sikbaggers thanks for the reply. I have a 2012 ultra limited with stretched bags and I think that would look good since my trunk is falling apart is done cracked all the way down. The latches have broken and the plastics around the latches has cracked and falling off. Just fixed all this and repainted went to Vegas this past week 1,600 miles and the latch housing broke mid trip

absolutely not...sound goes right through them..this is a pretty old video and we are still using these covers on both baggers. Love them!

yeah ive tested a few marine speakers..they sound like garbage compared to Pro audio speakers and drivers. But yes they can run marine speakers if they choose.

its 2 slotted angle steel pieces lag bolted to the wall...and two threaded rods with nuts on the outer edge. Space the apart slightly farther than the distance between the bracket, measure out the distance of the front and rear of the bracket and put your bars through the angle steel respectively. Super cheap and been using them for literally years.. I have 4 of them now. I dont know if you have a Menards where you are but here is the links to the stuff I got and you can pick this stuff up anywhere.. Slotted angle steel (I buy one long one and cut it in half) www.menards.com/main/hardware/sheet-metal-rods/hillman-reg-1-1-4-slotted-steel-angle-18-gauge/11115/p-1444432430083-c-9215.htm?exp=false and 2 of these threaded rods www.menards.com/main/hardware/fasteners-connectors/anchors/threaded-rods-nipples/hillman-reg-zinc-threaded-rod/11008/p-1444432412723-c-8724.htm?exp=false whatever size rod you get, pick up some nylon nuts for the ends.

not all speakers are waterproof. I run Pro audio so they are not water proof at all. Very few speakers on the market are waterproof. Some are water resistant. that doesnt mean a huge down pour over night on your speakers is going to be ok...better to protect them.
