A wagging tail does not always mean happy. When its straight like that and not up. It could mean fear and anxiety. They may have all ready given some pups away. Dogs will act like this when that happens. He is afraid it will be taken away. Some animals will hide the remaining pups or cats too. This dog is afraid.

Love the comments on here where ppl love dogs and feel for the father.. that you must be breeding,selling, puppies but these dogs are so sweet that if he is trying to protect this dog. You dont need to keep using him as a stud and the female for breeding.

Can confirm that a very small subset in the mainland still eat dog meat, those are the ones who believe in ancient chinese interpretations of health, medicine and biology over modern medicine etc. Within China itself, there are protests against eating dog meat in china itself as well as the same fervent animal rescue efforts one may see in other developed countries. Many love our pets like people love their children too, even in the mainland, so that perspective is grossly overestimated.
