My goodness. This is one phenomenal speech. I had to give up dairy ten years ago as it was making me ill. Seven years ago I gave up meat because I didn’t want the animals to die for me, but I thought fish was only fish. Following Seaspiracy I gave up fish and I’m now vegan. I have to say that I worried terribly about my protein consumption but you’ve persuaded me that I really don’t need to worry about it. I’m so pleased I’m vegan, for so many reasons.

Just make sure that when you start becoming obese like this doctor and/or your start becoming deficient in so many ways... You get to eating meat... You definitely need protein... It's literally essential.. What is not essential is any form of carbs.. If you don't eat protein (essential amino acids) or fat (essential fatty acids) you get really I'll and die.. If you don't eat carbs... You gain health and lose weight...

@@jorgecarrejo7562 I’ve heard that he was having problems with his weight because of an accident he had, which stopped his activity for a long period of time. @@lobana1108 In the beginning most vegan went vegan for ethical reasons, not health. It wasn't until 40 years after it was coined that a whole food plant based diet was even coined. Then it took almost another 40 years for that to merge into veganism. I've been vegan since 2011. I was only doing it ethical at first. Then I realized 6 years later that the overwhelming evidence supported eating whole plant foods as being the healthiest. This is what prompted me into being an advocate because it was then that I realized there was no reason for anyone to be eating animals. Since Then I have met and even videographed many long term vegans. I even know some that have been their entire life. Even 2 generations of vegan since birth families.

I needed to see this in my journey to recover from, well, dying. If I had not changed my diet, that's all I changed at first, I would not have been here. I was on high protein shakes (medical!!) and my body was eating itself, it was horrible and I was in so much pain, in my body as well as mentally. The 'we are omnivores' thing is what kept me struggling to find healthy food. Now I'm off processed foods, sugar, anything animals and if I stick to that, I can dance and be normal. If, on the other hand, I visit someone who doesn't have 'food' and on top of that, I eat candy... Pain, no more walking. I can start to detoxify all over again. Protein isn't an innocent thing, if not gotten directly from a plant. It kills!!

Learned so much from this talk. Dr. Mills is doing great work out here in these plant-based streets. That point about the body injecting ≈ 90g of protein into the digestive tract is a super 💎

@@datenschutzdatenschutz7951 if sufficient plant food is not available to sustain life, I think it is absolutely necessary to consume animal flesh with gratitude for that animal's sacrifice. However, the vast majority of the world's population does not live in such circumstances.

Here's one of my main issues with veganism, and it's a 100% honest concern: pescatarians live longer and have lower incidence of disease than vegans do, and healthy omnivores live as long as vegans. Why is this, if animal foods have no value?

@@debunkinghistory214 / Well I am new to learning about metabolism/nutrition - however I believe as humans get older they wear out the beta cells and begin to have unhealthy insulin levels _( insulin resistance / Diabetes type 2 )_ . It may also be a protein deficiency in some Vegans. ❔❔

@@debunkinghistory214 you’re making statements that aren’t really proven, the problem with measuring between diets is that populations that largely eat vegan diets vs Mediterranean diets lead markedly different lives with many confounding factors. That being said, it might have something to do with increased intake of healthy acids like DHA and EPA. That doesn’t mean you have to eat a ton of fish though, and you really shouldn’t in general because of the high levels of heavy metals. Just supplement it, but make sure that those supplements aren’t oxidized.
