At the other point though the Californian economy is roughly on par with the German economy, so if the richest country in Europe matches the richest state in America economy wise I think that says something, and not like California makes most of our money, the texan economy is also very good, with it being slightly better than the Canadian economy, so keep coping.

I’m coming to Madrid at the end of August, I’ve been a few times and concur the centre is gorgeous and I love it (totally different atmosphere to Barcelona which increasingly feels edgy and unsafe). Also, although Madrid can be scorching hot by day, humidity is always very low compared to the sweatbox Barcelona is in August.

It’s not as bad. It’s not a “whole Spain” problem. It’s just that Barcelona is practically drowning in tourists. They have wayyy more than they can handle (which if you don’t know, it’s pretty ridiculous)

They would probably be okay with people there illegally for years, but not tourists with valid passports and disposable income.

I saw on another channel that they were tired of all the houses being bought up and used for Air BNB’s, making it nearly impossible to find reasonable housing for themselves. Not sure how true that is.
