I have the same question what protogens accually is Robots, animals with visors, cyborgs? When is cyborgs is more organic or robotic?

@Maksenix in short: they are bio-engineered beings that the primagens made for tasks that were too menial or dangerous (underwater exploration, factory jobs, and a military. Basically, anything they didn't want to do) and since most of them had cybernetics integrated into them, they had no to little free will, with the exception of "rare" protogens, eventually war breaks out and the protogens are free to do what ever they want after winning. There are videos that explain it better, but this is the jest of it
