If I were doing this I would probably switch out the top section for a few different battery holders, maybe a 9 volt and some kind of recharable as well as still having the connectors for the bench supply. I just probably would have entire strips for each power connector and maybe would instead just do one or two power rails right above the breadboard for power distribution and the ability to use two different voltages if I need to do that. I would also probably mount a general purpose screen as well, because even for just prototyping it could be useful, even if it doesn't end up in what you're building(like it has no use for a screen) I think it's kind of helpful, you can use it for monitoring stuff too and if make some what of a analyzer that moves beyond prototype bones into a tool as well.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed and appreciated your video on building a Pi workstation. I took your ideas a bit further. Adding buck converters and two DC input jack sets, one dedicated 12V from an old DSL router with battery backup, the other from my current regulating variable DC bench supply. With the buck regulators, this gives me 12V (source) plus fairly high current regulated 9V, 5V, & 3.3V, and of course any voltage/current I want from the bench supply. Photos available on request.

May I ask where you got your parts from, and if there is a particular model number (breadboard type) you would recommend? I have been searching for weeks for a tutorial like this. Thank you so much for sharing. I cannot afford to splash silly money on the commercial breadboard stations, but this looks perfect. I just need to find the best suppliers.
