In wound healing, platelets play an important role. In addition to forming clots that stop bleeding, they can also stimulate the growth of cells. In order to prepare a PRP injection, a medical professional takes a sample of the patient's blood. This sample will be placed in a centrifuge and sealed in a container. When the device spins at such a high speed, the blood sample separates into component parts, one of which is PRP. According to a 2015 study, males receiving PRP treatment grew more hair, and with significantly more density, than males who did not get the treatment.
