Last Wednesday I did the synvisc one injection ,my knee doctor didn't recommend the prp

The published evidence shows that prp works better and lasts longer than gel injections. Not recommending prp when one recommends a gel injection for knee arthritis is illogical.

While prp will not change the bone spur of haglunds deformity, it will help the Achilles tendinitis this improving pain and function.

@@ChicagoArthritis thanks for replying back ,really appreciate it,Im doing the haglund's surgery aug 31, I been dealing with this for 6 years can't take it no more ,my Dr. said he has to detach the Achilles Tendon ,I wasn't to happy about that I'm 50 yrs old 5'7 320lbs he's telling me the recovery can be around 4 months I'm a tractor trailer driver ,I'm just hopeing & praying I can still do this job afterwords

Normally it takes 3-4weeks to start noticing relief, then improvement for the next 3-6months. However, since you were treated at a different clinic, please contact your physician for more clarification regarding your specific condition, treatment, and situation.

Ideally your treating physician would guide you with this because it depends on the quality of the prp lab prep utilized. For a low count, weaker concentration prp re-evaluation and possibly repeat treatment within a month is appropriate. That is similar to how one would utilize dextrose prolotherapy which is a milder regen med treatment. For a high concentration prp, evaluating at 1 month post treatment is appropriate, but repeat treatment should be considered at the 3 months plus mark since the effect is stronger and will take more time to maximize.

thank you. they never said when they wanted to do a follow up. I had 17 billion platelets, and he did a euflexxa injection along with the prp. I was suppose to go back for the other euflexxa injections, but I was still flared up and so stiff! Is that normal. He did use ultra sound guided. @@ChicagoArthritis

It will not rebuild cartilage. It will however make the overall joint healthier. If treated appropriately and comprehensively, treatment should make the joint more stable and less inflamed, leading to reduced pain and better function.

Also for more advanced arthritis, bone marrow stem cell treatment is more effective than prp treatment.
