The PRS NF 53 is a powerful guitar that combines classic tones with modern design. Inspired by one of Paul Reed Smith’s vintage guitars from 1953, the PRS NF 53 combines a swamp ash body and 22 frets, 25.5” scale length bolt-on maple neck with maple fretboard with a special set of PRS Narrowfield pickups. The PRS Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) pickups are made with taller bobbins to fit more winds and extra metal pieces in between the magnets for a more focused, powerful tone.

Bryan Ewald is in my opinion, the finest demonstrator out there. He's also a great instructor. I like the sound of the NF 53 very much.

I agree, he has a great mix of feel and the precision. Lovely guitar too. Pricey, but if they bring out an SE then I think it could sell an incredible number.

The last time PRS launched the NF3 and the DC3 they were still a brand mostly followed and like by rockers and metalheads...so the guitars didnt work. But since John Mayer has boarded the PRS train and more blues and jazz and clean tone lovers have joined in....this is the perfect time to launch these designs. This does sound good!!

I agree, the DC3 was awesome, I was seeking for it for a while around the 2010, and finally I got the Brent Mason in 2013, which is another kind of beast that PRS should bring back now they have even better pickup with their TCI pickups. It was a 25”¼ which is even more special since it’s not the usual 25” from PRS, and not the 25”½ from Fender Strat/Tele either… that’s why I will NEVER sell my Brent Mason.

Amazing job on this guitar and pickups. Lots of twang to be had, but not as harsh as T-styles can sometimes be. And NO hum. Amazing playing, as well.

The Telecaster has never gone out of style (being one of the oldest solid body designs out there) The PRS thing, needs a 6 in line headstock (not to mention that Sliver sky thing)

This is the first demo video where I heard the guitarist actually make this sound like a telecaster…… sounds great……. If you play a tele into a super quiet amp with no drive; it’s gonna sound anemic and wimpy. The pickups remind me of Danny Gattons a little.

Very cool guitar. I’ve listened to several demos now and I still think the overdriven tones are where these pickups sound best. The single coil sounds just arent quite there in my opinion. Killer guitar. I hope to get one eventually. Maybe an s2 version or something. I just wouldn’t buy one thinking it would replace an actual single coil tele. whereas the silver sky absolutely could replace a strat if you wanted. This isn’t a tele replacement. Not that it’s meant to be either by the way.

PRS Can you please make a new signature guitar based on the PRS SE Standard with Mikael Åkerfeldt again from Opeth. In the same vein as his old Les Paul looking signature SE model in red with gold hardware but in the PRS SE Standard shape with the tremolo and everything. I would really like to buy that one instead of a normal PRS SE Standard since I love Opeth and think it is a shame you stopped making that gorgeous guitar 😭 I also want to take the time to thank PRS for the amazing guitars being built from the Indonesian factory. The level of quality and quality control is truly superior for being built outside the US. Many of my friends started with guitars being built from that factory and plays them everyday to this day and none of them had any problems with their guitars. They are really built to a great standard. Now please a PRS SE Standard guitar with the classical tremolo arm in a sexy red color that oozes of metal is what we need (Mark Holcomb no tremolo arm and Tremonti not the classical PRS body shape).

Fender's got nothing to worry about after looking at this. Two saddles, gee thanks PRS, suppose it will intonate better than if it just came with a single saddle.

That bridge intonates better than any regular fender Tele bridge. Take another look, two saddles yes but four bolts to adjust the angles. Way better than Leo’s original. Same bridge as the Vela.

this Amp wahoooo I need one!!!, PRS still surprised me, I am more regular style shape of regular PRS GUITARS, like the PRS CU24-08, PRS modern eagle v, or PRS 509, or PRS special semi hallow body and PRS McCarty Hallowbody 597 are for the great guitars ever build, but this one is great new guitar in world, a modernretro telecaster, I wish a more modern design base on telecaster shape, with a silver sky neck will be just amazing you should trying that Sir Paul, PRS

Check out the Anderton's video on these ... I do wish Brian Ewald was with Andertons, then we could hear him on different brands ... They do a Tele comparo at 13:11 in the Anderton video ... Its quite telling ! I do like the "vintage" locking tuners on the Siggy version. Saw a set of similar tuners on a used S2 McCarty the other day... Looked great (probably cost $200 !) The pricing is "environmentally friendly" for swamp ash ...(opaque colors hide the killer grain in the ash though) I'm thinking, for those that have an open ear ...These guitars will generate a lot of interest in the G & L ASAT Special w/jumbo MFD's ... G&L does a great product ... Just needs the hype it like PRS does theirs ...

If you like this but it’s a little pricey, look at the prs s2 Vela. Same tailpiece and although offset double cut the Vela sounds and feels like a tele. One of prs’s most underrated and hidden gems imo.

Was really hyped for this but for almost $3k I don’t think I’d buy. For that I would aim for the signature looks of their core line up. Sounds stellar but hopefully they release an S2 version soon. Silver sky made sense to an extent because it was John Mayer’s signature but this guitar should be pushing $2k or a little over.

This guitar is more versatile than a telecaster and isn't meant be a direct copy of one.

@@prsplayer210 explain how this is more versatile than a telecaster? For half the price, I could get an SS/HH/HS tele. Swap the pickups, re do the wiring, get a hardshell case, hell even buy a custom shop neck. And still come up less than this guitar. Also, the telecaster could be a quality made one as well and not even a Squier. It could be an American Performer series or a used American standard.
