Mine liked chewing on the trimmings from my mulberry tree and absolutely loved the leaves later in the year.

Mine ate mulberry dry first and then they liked it fresh. They absolutely adore willow trees.

How about grape vines and leaves? I give the bunnies the vines to chew and the leaves to eat, and they seem to like them and it doesn’t appear to hurt them. Have you heard anything?

I have been giving my rabbits muskidine leaves and vines for years now and it hasn't hurt them. They really seem to enjoy them, too.

I don't know if this is already asked but are there any tree clippings that your shouldn't? I'm only asking because i heard that stone fruit trees ( peach, plumb etc) shouldn't be fed to them.

be sure to always research the rabbit food your feeding but a variety is key and in my experience, feeding peach and plum and even cherry was safe to feed when introducing a variety of other foods. So variety is key. I mostly feed apple and pear fruit trees which are terrific producers

Question for you I i just trimmed up Nanking cherry tree bit it was mostly dead stuff. Would that be ok to feed? Some of it was green on the inside. Probably wouldn't of trimmed those ones but i didn't know. Im starting to get my yard together after 5 years of doing nothing. Also have Saskatoon's. From Canada if that helps.

A little bit of plum and cherry won’t hurt but a lot could have a negative impact on your rabbits health due to the cyanide in the cherry branches especially wilted leaves in the fall. I Avoid cherry tree branches, chokecherry tree, branches altogether. We have cherry trees on the property and I save the wood for smoking meat and stick to feeding rabbits other trees, like crabapple, pear, regular apple, willow, maple, black locus, poplar, alder, birch etc. there’s so many other good choices. Don't feed Rabbits wood from trees that have fruit with Pits, like Plums, Peaches and Cherries.

That is an overblown issue. I feed rabbits from my plum tree. It's not a huge part of their diet, but it doesn't hurt them. I'm not even sure where that came about, but much of the information on the internet about what rabbits can eat comes from pet rabbit people and they are way more strict on what can't be done than meat rabbit people.

I agree. It’s due to the level of tannins found in most trees, barks and leaves and for many of these so called toxic trees they have concentrated levels of tannins in the pit of the fruit which your not actually even feeding to your rabbit due to sugar levels. Variety is key and I’ve also watched rabbits eat oak leaves which are high end tannins. Oak trees for example, a have the ability to raise tannin levels to fight off insects. tannins can actually help introduce anti oxidants to rabbits it is a bit over blown and karen is probably hitting the nail right on the head where this most likely derives from.
