Do you think that tomato’s do better in the shade ? I did mine in direct sun this summer and it’s been awful but, all the rain hasn’t helped either!

All the rain and then no rain at all hasn’t been ideal! Our grass in the yard is crispy! I honestly think it has cut down on disease though! The shade starts around noon, so it’s blocking that super hot direct sun. This year though is a hard year to determine if something is working or not.

So, Florida can you maintain an open garden 365? I live south of Pittsburgh, PA so I can only grow from Mid May to Early September.

In a sense yes! We grow warm weather crops March to July. August to October we can grow a second set of some warm weather crops like tomatoes. In September October we start planting cool season crops. Cabbage, Brocolli etc that will grow October to March/April. I’m North Florida so our growing seasons are even different than south Florida since we see freezing temps a few times a year here. 🖤
