New tutorial for a new slicer! In this video I explain the two main ways you can go about adding custom supports to your 3D prints. The two methods I explain are enforcing and blocking. There are a lot more support settings that you can play around with so keeping experimenting! I hope you find this video useful. If you'd like to request a tutorial please leave a comment below.

While I've been printing for over 4 year, this is my first Prusa Printer (it's taken my game to a new level!) . While I knew of Sc1cer I hadn't used it. It was easy to setup and use but I'm so ready to print by the time I get to the slicer that I just want to set a few items and slice. I've been wanting to learn how to do this for a few months and finally found a minute to watch your video. It's great! the information was well presented, timed well, and well-organized. Thanks for taking the time!

Thanks for this clear and concise explanation on supports! I'm finding it super useful. I'm not wasting as much filament nor having to do some unnecessary cleanup of my printed models. Gary

love this tutorial, helped cut 9.5 hours off my print time with enforcers and aload of excese filamant waste. Been printing for over a year now and flipping between cura and S3D as they both have pros and cons, BUT PrusaSlicer 2.0 WELL lets just say it has it all and more. veriable layer heights diferent infills and so much easier for custom profiles for differnt sections unlike S3D. Prints faster and with use of magic numbers also prints are amazingly clean. Set-up Ender 3 frame, SRK 1.3 2208 drivers - marlin 2.0, Microswiss direct drive, petfang V2, Octoprint, silent fans.

Thanks; Prusa slicer is well beyond this version now, but these instructions still work perfectly, and are presented in the most straightforward and clear way I've seen so far. If I could give you 2 thumbs up I would.

FYI. Clicking on expert mode DOES make a difference. It allows you to choose between the differnt types of shapes when you right click. In simple mode, you only get a box shape. You also do not need to make the shape touch the ground. IE, on the shoulders. if you placed a small box under his shoulders, touching them, you do not need it to scale and touch the ground. As long as the enforcer is touching at the upper section, it knows to generate supports there:)

Interesting features. Can you add brim to an existing support? I have some support that keeps debonding from the plate, but the rest of the print is good. I think it needs better base on some of the supports

Excellent video buddy. But how do you disable model's going on build plate, sometimes i want to add one model but add to it, in the slicer with another maybe at the middle or top, trouble is auto placement drops it to build plate again, cura has a disable setting but just can't find it

Hi. Nice explanation but.... do you know the correct values for supports? It´s impossible for me to remove them, I always end up breaking the model. I have tried three times and nothing. Never happened to me in Cura but I love Prusa Slicer....

Only thing that ticks me off about Prusa Slicer is that it does not lift Z on travel moves. Kisslicer does that and no more scarring from the nozzle.

Would be really nice if I had FULL control over where I put my supports instead of having to rely on the software. That alone goes against your idea it is awesome software! Sorry but working with these boxes is clumsy and cumbersome and totally unnecessary! Regardless thanks a ton for this information!!!

prusa creators instead of making blockers and spheres and making it really hard to remove supports that are generated automatically how bout clicking on them to remove them or right click on them to remove them..and or click to highlight drag and highlight certain supports.. this making boxes etc and making you reslice to see the outcome is way to hard... you should still see the supports when your removing them meaning it shows where they are clicking back where there are none is youll have to remember where they are or were to place your remover box thing.. this is tedious and takes to many steps.. click to highlight supports and right click to delete.. and or a drop down menu on right click to re apply...

I just tried today using the organic supports (prusaslicer 2.6.0) and it has potential but ..somehow, it kind of sucks. There is no way to block supports of a certain area, no matter how you paint it, for instance. Also, for two (very) adjacent points that needed support, it generates two separate supports, all the way from the bottom, when it could have easily generated just a small branch from one support, to reach the other point. I've seen many people complaining on the official forum or on github about the support blockers that don't work properly, but the devs are VERY quick in closing and dismissing the issue. Sad, because, as I said, it had great potential.
