How's the streaming quality of portal compared to phone? Assuming both devices are on the same network.

Thanks! I still don't know which to get first, although I think ultimately i might want both for different reasons. I really like the native Playstation controller layout, but the flexibility of the backbone and the range of games it can play is cool. My first priority is Playstation tho. I ordered a mount for my dual sense to just try that for a while, so we shall see how that goes. The portal is super tempting and I'm nearly sold, but just doubting if it's worth the price

I enjoy both, I use them both all the time cause for different reasons, but next month scuf gaming is dropping a mobile controller made for iPhones that has back paddles so I will be getting that and doing a review comparison on it vs the the backbone and portal . But the portal is good for PS5 games and stuff the backbone is fire also to do other games that support controller

So question if I’m in Florida and my ps5 is in Minnesota as long as my ps5 is in rest mode the portal will just turn it on?

Yes sure will, as long as your PS5 is in rest mode the portal will be able to turn it on, as long as you got a WiFi internet connection you can connect to.

@@deangeliststrozier6891 yes cause that’s how PlayStation remote play is designed unless PlayStation do some massive changes to PS remote play which they are probably working on cause ps remote play is old since PS3 days

Backbone gen 1 tends to be on sale for under $75 but not gen 2 as much. Just be sure you know what you're getting when you order. I think the main diff is gen 2 is now compatible with iPhone 15 via USB C.

Yeah, cause on Gen 1 if you have a iPhone 15 with usb c it needed to be upgraded and activated by Android I think unless they fix it, but the gen 2 is clean also

@@ESTENT-cu7qd Yeah true but prolly cause of all the features the backbone have they like it so they can use they phone and play xbox, ps remote play, Steam, Apple Arcade Amazon Luna etc and with the portal it’s just PlayStation only

PlayStation portal all the way better comfortable backbone not so great too why did they sell it as a Xbox design instead of a PlayStation design for a PlayStation edition plus they should have made it for Android instead of just iPhone.

@@sofnaji my bad, but the portal is only going to play at 1080p 30-60 fps depending on the game, the portal latency is very low like tenths of a second not really noticeable. The backbone is your phone and if you are at home on WiFi you will be good, if your out n about depends on your phone carrier internet how it will run, but both have very low latency and I’m talking about milliseconds low

@@CraytonTv I tried using my friend ps portal and I went to go starbucks to connect WiFi this thing don’t even have internet browser to access the WiFi so what is the point !!! I rather have the Backbone one at least I can play digital games on my phone period .

No it’s not a waste I had to spend $600 for a ps5 console than you have to spend a next $200 for the ps portable to actually to play this game get use to it 👈🏾

They keep bashing this device thinking that’s going to be a PS vita 2 no the portable is vita 2 get use to technology this peace of device it’s unique and we have a lot more new updates coming i be watching movies on KZfaq with this thing
