Same, but just because it know zilch doesn't mean you can't learn by watching... its like watching the instruction manual on how to do it, and don't feel bad if you have to watch multiple times while doing the work yourself, the more time you put in the greater chance of first trying it on your first try, and like someone said, start small ideally with something you know is just trash to get the hang of doing it proper, as just cuz it's trash doesn't mean there isn't a use for it... its a free learning tool

Take pride in your work, even if you are under paid. Prove how good you are and use that to get a better job. No matter what, if you do a lazy job; it reflects on you. Your boss can always blame that it's bad because of you.

Hey coder. I have a question regarding the hybrid aluminum capacitors on the PS5 motherboard . There is factory thermal putty on those caps. How important is it to have thermal putty of those hybrid aluminum capacitors specificaly

Starting with ds lites is very cheap to do and so it doesn't matter if you make a mistake. Only the hinge from the top screen you will break probably the first time.

I started fixing tv/ac remotes about a month ago now I'm going to replace my ps4 pro hdd because I deep cleaned it and it still sound like a jet engine. BTW I own it for 5 years

The hakko fx-971 works with 110v and not 220v. You will need a power adapter, that transforms the 220v from the grid to 110v

Yeah I did notice that bud. I was planning on getting a converter but then try and find a 240v mains Transformer to convert it properly 😀

I don't think FX971 is worth the 450 price tag. They don't actually compare the performance to the FX951 so I wouldnt be surprised if it isnt any better (looking at their own historical images its almost the same). There are better brands out there these days.

So at the end it was the encoder that was faulty? I just replaced tge hdmi port off a ps5 i bought with a faulty hdmi port, still not getting any video although the tv intermittently detects the signal. also, sometimes teh console wont turn on at first but after a few minutes of trying will finally power on. Great vid. Peace

My ps5 got fried through the tv lightning storm and tried to replace the hdmi encoder cause it was grounded. Put the new one on and get the ps5 to boot up and everything just no signal to the tv. Took it back off and just ended up destroying the dang bored. There’s 2 pads stuck together that I can not get the solder off of. I’ve tried everything

Other than pulling an encoder off a PS5 board, are there places that legitimately stock these parts? I've got a PS5 here that I suspect has a dead encoder and don't want to end up with a fake.

It might sound like a shill but the only place I can guarantee genuine parts is on my own store mate. I pull them from donor boards so I know 💯 mine are genuine but I can't vouch for other places. I buy boards in bulk so I always have them available 😀

Panasonic parts on a Sony product that's an interesting observation. Why would you not make you're own chips so you can have better control over the quality etc. Guess it's all but the money again.

It really depends on what's failed on the console. If it's the power supply itself it would be £80 (parts plus labor) plus the return shipping. It may be less if it's a board issue depending on what got fried but that's difficult to say until I was to see it in person

It can be but I've had batches of these in the past from aliexpress with the same gold contacts and they don't work :(

When using the drop (only) method, I get even nicer results if i pre-tin the hdmi. Also I think you were a bit on the hot side with your gun. Anyway, keep it up!

Yeah I went a little too hard on this one. I need to recalibrate my hot air gun properly because I've recently installed a new element so it's a little off in terms of heat (about 10-15⁰C out)

If you need something that is inert that shouldn't be; ali express. If you need something that isn't inert that should be; ali express! I was tempted to order a bottle of sand from them to see how much lead and toxic waste was in it. This whole "trash in a box from china" thing isn't new. I had a T-62 model kit that I had to put micro screws into because not a glue on earth would bond with it... I had stuff that'd weld ACTUAL TEFLON to ICE CUBES at the time and that wouldn't hold.

Ai me pS5 mate, got 300 Gran Turismo gayrog last week. Nothing new to buy, OLED is a must have I reckon bits and bobs alike. 444 hdr10 30hz, granted its game, so smooth motion is never visible. I believe it set the pS5 to 1440p, mad lighting, just add 888 to the whiteness amplifier, 53 to contrast & + 8 to the sharpness...its not "reality", movies only 20GB at 12 bit.
