Got this delivered today. Easy to set up, works great out of the box with setting that I like. 2k gaming at 144hz, freesync, cured screen is more than enough for me. Decent price point as well.

@@g.gabriel8584 PC mate! I can only talk about my possitive experience on the PC. I followed some settings i found online, worked a treat. It looked a little bad untill i changed the settings. I also had to adjust some in game graphic settings. Yeah, the blacks are deeper, colours seem richer, games look better. The stand is not as bad as they say, but it does take up a lot of room, i will be obtaining an arm for this :-)

@@dervlex4500 i will give you the settings I use. Black Equallzer 18 Freesync on Brightness 8 Contrast 75 Sharpness 100 Colour all 50 Gamma mode 3 Dymatic brightness off Displayport 1.2 All my AMD setting on my PC are off, so I just used these settings. Its stopped hurting my eyes, thee colors are rich and deep. If I am watching a show from the sofa, I turn the brightness up a little. This is a bright monitor. Thats what the eye pain!

BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. You helped me solve this issue BRO. I bought new Samsung Odessey G5, and the default setting in Windows was 60Hz, when I knew the monitor was capable of 144Hz. I was about to buy a new HDMI cable but I saw your video. I had no idea you had to manually chnage the monitor setting using that button underneath the monitor! Now i have selected 144hz and Windows recognizes it too! Hooray!

Did you happen to also install the monitor driver from the G5 support page (CxxG5xT.exe)? On Windows 7 I needed that driver before I could explicitly set the refresh rate (in Windows) to anything higher than 75Hz but it's worth the effort to install on later Windows systems for the color profile file (CxxG5xT.icm, which you can play with via the 'Color Management' tab).

I have the 32 165hz model, I'm surprised because it said to do 2k, but in fact it also does 4k on ps4 pro and ps5 + 2k120hz, magnificent.

You can connect HDMI Devices and Play The content but if you connect your PS5 to it you can use that for your media as it has Netflix and other streaming services. The only thing you might need to look at is speakers.

Thank you for the informal video I was praying that this update would come since I heard they weren’t supporting 1440p. I got this monitor for the PS5 back in October thinking it would be the perfect middle ground to have better than 1080p and not have to spend 1000’s on a 4K 120hz monitor when they became available. It’s pretty sad that the monitor brands had to be the ones to just come in and support it somehow instead of Sony just stepping up and doing it

It’s still not supported on 1440p at 120hz. It’s either 1440p at 60 or 1080p at 120. I don’t think Sony will add 1440p at 120 like Xbox which is a shame really

Also, it depends your monitor. You need a really bright display for HDR to work well. Issue with gaming monitors is that they sacrifice brightness for better refresh rates.

For these type of monitors I try to game without hdr because of that issue, I’m sure it has to do with the version of hdr this monitor has. I think this 1 is hdr400, I got the chg70 from Samsung it’s hdr600 but it can either get really dim or really bright, doom eternal looks great in hdr but try Star Wars squadrons and it looks so horrible. Those games I tried on my Pc. On my ps5 I just have hdr disabled you really need a bright screen for it to actually work right

So you need a pc to force higher refresh rates above 100hz? Well out of the box mines is capped at 60 to 100 and won’t go any higher, I have a 2.1 hdmi and it’s still not working

Almost guaranteed you will need to. I bought one last week and it had Firmware 1002, 1006 is the latest it came out Jan 24th. It's a simple process though.

You will need to find it on Samsungs website, here is the link and find ur model. The firmware update is not over the air and will need to update manually when new one is available. www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/?model=N0054074

After making some adjustments and placement modifications the picture looks better. Playing around with the settings and making those adjustments you can achieve better picture quality. It would be nice to see 1440P support from Sony on PS5 so hopefully some of the other features this Monitor offers can be used.

@@mrwiz124 i use to play competetive games and I understand frames> resolution but this isn’t pc. Its a console... also ps5 doesn’t support 1440p, if your only going to play shooter games on ps5 then just stick with a 24 inch 1080p 144 hz monitor. Otherwise 4k 60hz is going to be the way to go.

When you did the firmware what usb drive did you use and did you have any issues copying the file to the usb? For me it’s saying my usb drive isn’t compatible lol

If this helps any one, I ended up picking up Walmart’s brand of USB driver for under $7 bucks and I copied and pasted the the USB drive and the monitor picked it up ASAP and was able to update it

Format with FAT32 and make sure the firmware .bin file is unzipped and in the root of the USB not a subfolder should work fine. You likely weren't formatted in FAT 32.

Yes you will need to put the PS5 in performance mode. One you do that when you go to the game you should be able to see it within COD settings and you would not need to make any changes.

Yeah on the next gen consoles it is possible to run 120 fps, but not that much games are next gen enchanted on the moment, but I know that Cold War can run at 120fps on next gen!

Value is relative. If money is no object spend more and get the G7 if you would rather not have the extra features of the G7, (RGB back lighting, 240Hz) then stick with the G5.

Hello guys I bought the Samsung g5 34zoll monitor c34g55twwp 165 hz monitor and turned it on my ps5 to see how it is and it seems nice and good looking visual graphic but I get surprised that I can only choice between 100 hz or 60 hz and I can’t change it to 120 hz can someone help me

Most likely the monitor you ordered was manufactured before dec 24th when the firmware came out so you will have to update it.

So you can run 1440p at 120 frames if you use display port right ?

No. it downscales 4k to 1440p so it will run at 4k (1440p) 60hz on the ps5. hopefully sony adds the ability in the future for true 1440, which will allow 120 hz

I would say yes but since it’s not native 1440p on the PS5 and it thinks the output is 4K it will limit to 60hz due to the need of hdmi 2.1. I want to test DP 1.4 to hdmi 2.1 and see if it is possible at 4K since the output of DP 1.4 can achieve 32gbps even though hdmi 2.1 is 48gbps.

If you are using a console it can do 120FPS 1440p through HDMI port no need to use the DP.

My screen flashes white sometimes. Any ways to fix that? I noticed it does not flash when I turn FreeSync Premium off. Is the ps5 unable to handle this mode?
