Is this game worth it ? Had it on my wishlist for a while but the reviews have kept me from buying it so far. Any suggestions maybe ? Thanks

I'll address the main complaints from negative reviews: Slow Character Movement: This is intentional. The game is about slow-paced exploration of dark corridors, not speed. Don’t try to rush through the story, as the game punishes haste. Combat Difficulty with Multiple Enemies: Turn off the alternating key setting for dodging in the options menu, so you can dodge by holding down a single button. The game has an achievement for completing 50 riot waves (DLC), which is relatively easy. Once you accomplish this, dodging in the story mode will be much easier, regardless of difficulty. The combat isn't perfect, but it's manageable if you take on enemies in smaller groups. Drawn-Out Second Half: I partly agree, as the story can feel repetitive. However, you don’t have to use stealth exclusively; you can use spears, clubs, or simply avoid enemies. Technical Issues: There are bugs with enemy corpses, items getting stuck in textures, and occasional save file issues (restarting the game helps). These are infrequent and not game-breaking, even on extreme difficulty. Frequent Loading Screens and Inconvenient Workbench/Save Point Locations: While sometimes inconvenient, these issues won’t prevent you from completing the game. If you want Dead Space, buy the remake. Callisto Protocol is a different game with a similar atmosphere, beautiful visuals, slow-paced gameplay, and simple but engaging combat. The story is straightforward and stretched out, with an annoying companion character. Despite minor flaws, I enjoyed playing it multiple times on high difficulty. For platinum, you need the deluxe version. The DLCs are average: one story-based, the rest are skins and new modes. The Contagion Bundle adds a challenging mode and achievement. If you liked the main game, the DLCs are worth playing.
