This video is all about Psammocora. What kind of tank is Psammocora best suited for? I see this coral being used as a ground cover in SPS dominated tanks as well as mixed reefs with other stony corals. It is a very fast growing coral and can quickly cover rock work basically acting as a much more exotic replacement for coralline algae. Let’s get into the Psammocora coral care tips.

So excited to see a video on these beauties. I have 4 different kinds in my tank currently. I have a green psammy at the base of one of my birdsnests that has started to grow over the dead skeleton that doesn't get enough light. Great video!

Great to see you cover a coral that deserves more attention. I picked up a bright orange with a yellow growth ring variant from Frost while at his house about a year ago. One of my favorites. As usual great job Than.

I've had a tangerine psammocora for a few years now and its a super sturdy coral! It fought off an invasive pompom algae with relative ease.

I put one on a power head magnet, did great for months than RTN and almost died, now it’s coming back!

Nice once I fix my tanks nutrient problems caused by algae and my current corals begin to grow I will consider this coral.

Great video! Will you ever be doing a video on hydnophora by chance? I notice it’s on tidalgardens.com and I have had great success with it in everything from very low light to high light. (Such an easy sps to keep!)

These are actually a coral I do track down. One of the SPS I have had great success with. I too run a much higher nutrient system then most. Think its because I dose aminos multiple times a day

I got a branching one and an encrusting one. They're the slowest growing coral I have ever seen.

Yes they are. i have one for years and it is big but yeah they are slow growers

On species related I would say go for "Marine Atlas" by Baensch, all 3 Vol. I do not have 2005 edition, might be better than 1998. For overall understanding on biology/chemistry, old but my favorite is "The Modern Coral Reef Aquarium" by Fossa & Nilsen. For fish reference "Marine Fishes" by Scot Michael.

I was sent a freebie frag of strait up doo doo brown psammacora. I thought they had fucked up and sent a brown rock at first. All this after I told them I'm not set up for sps (biocube) but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Maybe my LFS will buy it 🤣🤣🤣.
