I recently bought a game that came today and the case itself was so broken and thank God I searched for this type of video instead of buying a while new game, just ordered the replacement casing. The game is not dirty

I tried playing one of my favourite games on my psp, and it completely scratched up the inner disc and now it says it can’t read the UMD 😭

I have a copy of syphon filter with a clear case like this I got from a store but it doesn’t work. They are also a pain to remove from the 1000 model because of these a little thinner than the oem umd cases. Do these have an issue playing on 1000 model psps?

I have a copy of Daxter, bought second hand in one similar to this. With the clear replacement it has it won’t boot and makes some noise in the drive. Should I try taking it apart and refit it or should I get my hands on a new one?

you dont want to lubricate the sides of the inner disc to make it spin easier? I love how simple to mad eit look... helps me feel more confident in swapping... Just curious if there should be some PTFE Lub added to the plastic wheel that spins along the plastic to make it load easier... then again Ive just recently purchase mine so im not sure it even matters... lol

can the silver bit in the center of the disc be removed? I'm wondering if these are basically like gamecube discs but with an extra piece. reason I ask is if it's removable then you could put a UMD in something like an Eco Pro 2 with gamecube attachment, & professionally clean them.

the center does pop out - but idk if the GC adapter center ring is wide enough and psp is slightly smaller - came here wondering if my autosmart and repair a PSP disc - i have cases

With the white UMD disc cases is it OK to use some type of adhesive to fix them or is the best way to repair the case, is to just get a replacement?

As a kid I tried to use super glue and applied it super gently with a toothpick, the fumes from the glue completely ruined the disc so I’d just order the replacement shells

I have 3 psp games chains of Olympics which has the top of the umd opened which is not a problem but the one that does worry me is a umd game that has the which I’d say I plastic or glass part at the back you can like put little non strong pressure on the back and it just goes to the back side which worries me,is that ok?

Ive replaced the charging port on mine and i still cant get a chArge. Its not the battery or the charger because they both work on another psp. It still turns on and works normally it just wont charge. Any idea what else it could be?

My silver PSP 3003 i no longer have, had the same not charging issue and after trying a new battery and a new charger with still not charging, i got rid of mine. I recently asked what the issue could be on similar videos like this and a couple people said blown charger fuse on the motherboard.

How long did your UMD replacements take to arrive? Because I ordered mine a while ago, and they seem to be taking a very long time delivering

Right now deliveries are taking a long time. One of my packages didn’t come until 1 and a half months AFTER the expected shipping time so it might take quite a long time depending on where the item is based

I'm kinda worried about using one of these cases if I ever had to. The reason why is because I once tested a game with one of these 3rd party cases and the UMD case got stuck inside my disc drive. Luckily the case didn't destroy the drive

You have a solution for removing scratches from discs? My copy of FlatOut Head On is scratched all over and my PSP just won’t load it! It’s not the system, I put Toy Story 3 in straight after and that game loaded fine! Also, my copy of Over The Hedge: Hammy Goes Nuts has some deep scratches, wonder if that’s why the energy drink power up didn’t work that one time.

You'll have to polish them out. And because the discs are so small it makes it really hard to do even by hand. Or.... find another copy on ebay thats in good condition.

it does, but the case isn't assembled well and comes off very easily

The UMD disk protecter feels like something Nintendo would do, especially during the N64 era. How many CD’s have children ruined? Now compare it to Hard plastic Cartridges!

I'd be glad to have paid a premium on games if all optical media was mounted inside a protective case like the UMD's to prevent careless handling/scratching. Too bad the coating used on Blu-Ray discs wasn't discovered during the advent of the CD-ROM/Laserdisc.

@@T-Dawg75 Yea, but now I have a JFJ Easy Pro machine running automotive-grade paint correction finishing pads that are super soft and I only use Meguairs Plast-X compound. Its been reviving all my old game discs from the hell me and my brother put them through - most of them coming out almost new with just 40seconds of polishing.

What systems do u own my psp 3000 looks nothing like that screen whys?

The model is a PSP-1000, you can tell by the infrared port on the top, the UMD drive loader and the faux speaker ports on the bottom front. The buttons to the right on the bottom are either missing or replaced with black ones, it's hard to tell. The screen layout is something modded, but I don't know which system UI he has found for that. It's not original XMB in any case.
