After about a month of frustration, I've finally reduced my neck pain and headaches with the PSVR2. I feature some products I've experimented with. All links are down below:
Studioform Creative PSVR2 Ultimate Comfort Kit:

Audio adapter for under the counterweights:
www.amazon.com/dp/B07YFBCQTT
DEVASO PSVR2 strap:

Rebuff Reality VR Ears:
Note that my pair are a first run production model. These might have changed!
www.amazon.com/Rebuff-Reality...
Also worth noting: SFC informed me that there's an optional strap that will work around mounted headphones for PSVR2. It's a separate strap from the comfort kit (so it doesn't include the counterweight). Details here:

Crikey, I find the PSVR2 very comfortable out of the box. I must have a Sony approved head shape.

@@SPOCK22 I guess so. I got lucky with it cause the oculus or meta quest 2 pushes in your face and hurts after a while. This one locks to your head and floats on your face it’s miles better as far as design goes

I loved my original PSVR, I'd rate it as the most comfortable VR headset I've used both to wear and for my eyes due to the focal length but the PSVR2 headset unfortunately is just as uncomfortable as my Pimax 8K+ so I need to find a way to make it better because the Pimax made me not want to play VR anymore. For me it's mainly the forehead cushion that causes me pain.

Good to see you back yet again. I love the PSVR 2 as well and yes I too do find it a little uncomfortable. For audio I have been using the wireless PS 5 pulse. As for the headset itself I will wait until more solutions come on the market before I commit to anything. I do not get headaches so for now so it's OK.

Same dude, i wore a beanie before to ease comfort a bit but if things get intense i sweated like a pig. I have a multi-layered piece of thick cleaning cloth for lenses tied to the front padding since today. Time will tell if it's enough, i have the same "haircut" as you and think we're extra prone to it being uncomfortable.. Thanks for your solutions, aways nice to have a backup plan!👌👍Subbed to your channel!

Splitting headache all over the top of my head. For some reason this also made my jaw ache. This deluxe confort strap was a big help. I could wear psvr1 all day without any discomfort I don't know why they made this one so uncomfortable

Whenever I play games on my PSVR 2, I wear a beanie. It helps so much preventing any movement and makes the experience so much more comfortable. Also, I recommend flipping the sides of the beanie up to allow a tighter fit on the front and back of the headset that would be far too painful. The pain I get on the PSVR2 is the front bumper. So while wearing a beanie I flip the front to double the padding a bit more. Although, depending on the thickness of your beanie, you may not even need to flip anything. Give it a try. It's the only way I can play on the PSVR 2 without it moving or causing forehead pain. Great video Ben! Cheers! 🍻

I also found the PSVR2 very uncomfortable, but on my forehead.... gave headaches very quickly. Looking up online i see its quite a common problem, i did try a strap across the top (used Samsung Gear vr head strap) and it completely fixed the issue 100% ! as for headphones, i dismantled a good pair of headphones, cable tied to same place you clamp yours and the sound is awesome.... doesnt touch my ears , and as already installed, the headset is now "put on and go" like you mentioned. Something else worth mentioning, i dont like the cable touching my face so i use a mic stand (singers mic stand), extend the arm upwards, and its the perfect way of keeping the cable off your face.

Cool advice, I have some trouble getting the PSVR2 to sit well too, I have a big head, and the PSVR2 seems to slip forward too much. I have the PS headphones, they work for me, but I will try the counter weights to see if that holds it in place better.
@CorporateZombi
@CorporateZombi Жыл бұрын
I think I ordered the studio form before they added the counter weights. The counterweights would definitely help. Like Ben, I can't wear the headstrap low down on my head, because then I'm out of the sweet spot. Unfortunately when I synch the strap the headset it still falls forward because my long and apparently frictionless hair let's it slide up at the back. The counter weights might help solve this, but I don't have them! So the headset moves forward and rests on my nose and the hard plastic edges at the top of the visor dig painfully straight into the top of my forehead. To be quite honest I think I may end up with horns like the ico boy unless I change something soon! I have found that people like me with long hair can use a bobble to make a high pony tail to stop the back strap riding up. Which does provide the same effect that the counterweight presumably provides. But no, it's not been comfy out of the box!

I have exactly the same problems except that rather than neck pain with the back strap low, the display is just tilted away from my face at an unreasonable angle for use. With a hinge adjustment for the front I might have been able to wear it without headaches and pressure pain possibly. Odyssey Plus was similarly a torture device for my head shape.
@BenPlaysVR

For me, there is no comfortable way to wear this headset. I ordered the studioform kit a few weeks back and it should arrive soon. Glad to hear you like it. I don't think I could do the VR ears, they just look so big and bulky, especially if the sound quality is only ok. I am sure in time PSVR2 will get some better audio solutions. I am also eagerly awaiting index style hand straps

My Lenovo Explorer has a halo, but no crossing strap. I just added a long strip of velcro loosely running side to side and found a small pad that happens to stick to the velcro. My VR hat is much more comfortable now.

Have you tried turning the headphone sound at full volume in the PS5 settings then adjust the VR Ears volume after that? Just curious since you said the sound was so so because I’ve heard other reviews and people are raving about the sound quality. It’s strange their is a mixed bag of reviews, you either love ‘em’ or hate em’ I guess. Thanks for your very informative video btw.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I have the volume on the PS5 way up. I’ve also heard that these speakers need time to sort of “burn in“ so maybe it’ll get better with time. Cheers!

That's the design of the samsung Odyssey/+ revisited. It's an amazing headset. On the later you needed to bring the back to the top of your backhead to force the front to give you best fov and eye alignment. Is the psvr2 better than the vive pro oled I am curious.

You don't afraid of scratching lenses with your glasses? I was really very careful with that but still i managed to scratch just slightly left lens. Even scratch is really small o still can notice it while playing - my prescription lenses didn't came in on time they due to delivery tomorrow but still - im left with scratch on lens
@BenPlaysVR
@BenPlaysVR Жыл бұрын
That’s a really good point! Currently, I keep the lenses pretty far away, and I don’t slide them forward. But I think for long-term I’ll either get lens protectors or something else, so that I can slide them closer. 😁

@@BenPlaysVR i contacted Sony support in morning and actually looks like they will help me with that even when that's my fault. I said exactly what happened and Sony asked for all my details plus PSVR2 serial nr and probably i will send my PSVR2 back and they will send me replacement I read some comments that Sony did helped people wearing glasses with lenses scratches replacing PSVR2 without any problem. A lot of people actually so HUGE well done for Sony for doing that for their customers And if i will get replacement from Sony(really hoping for it) i will never play without my prescription lenses!

Seriously, your comfort problem is not unique. I have exactly the same issue with neck pain wearing it the "correct" way and have to wear it higher up and tightened. However, that then gives me pressure on the top of my forehead and leaves serious marks. My solution is to wear a beanie hat, lol. God help me in summer when it gets hot 🥵 By the way, i have the PSVR1 and found that the most comfortable of all headsets out of the box.
