I guess it's like receiving advice from your grandparents... It shows the mistakes everyone does, so we can try to avoid them. This song did legitimately make me cry. This sums up almosy my entire twenties. I turned 30 this year. I spent such a large part of my youth stuck in the corporate machine, thinking one day I would me it to the top and be happy. You always forget that for every person that succeeds, many many more have to fail. I became a loner, an alcoholic, I honestly should be dead multiple times over with the decisions I have made. I quit my job, I now work as a chef. I reconnected with my family I had distanced myself from, I have a lovely boyfriend they now accept, we have a fur baby. I have finally found my happiness I had chased for a decade, it wasn't where I thought it would be.

this made me burst into tears. what a lovely song and music video. there can be happiness in the journey too. it's not something to "reach". i hope we can all stop chasing after it and instead create or find the joy that might be right in front of us.

왜인지 모르겠지만 제 삶이 투영되는 노래였습니다.. 아버지께서 돌아가시고 공황장애를 앓고 아내는 없지만.. 서울에 올라와 고향에 있는 어머니 동생과 살기 위해서 발버둥치는 제 삶이 보이는 느낌이라 뮤비를 보다 울었습니다. 지금도 공황장애와 다른 질병으로 고향으로 돌아갈지 고민중이지만.. 너무나도 공감이 되는 노래였습니다. 저도 사람답고 싶었고 누군가의 자랑이고 싶었고 누군가의 사랑이고 싶었습니다. 하지만 가사와는 다르게 마음의 병을 못 고치고 있네요..

After watching this video again, I noticed even more bitterness and regret than when I watched it for the first time, and I believe its meaning even deeper than what PSY intended it to be... You only notice something is wrong when it's too late, and this video perfectly expresses the hopelessness one can feel when they've gone too far to go back on their steps. I hope we can all understand from this lesson, and grasp what we have and hold onto it forever, without being distracted by meaningless matters. This is my second time saying this, but thanks PSY and Crush !

This is a really really really deep music video: 1. Happiness kept getting confused with Success. 2. Whenever he grabbed Happiness for himself, it disappeared. 3. Whenever he grabbed his friends and family, Happiness stuck around. It's almost like Happiness is not something you chase for yourself, it chases you if you focus on friends and family.

What a great depiction of the Pursuit of Happiness. I wish the all the animators got their full credits in the description because the animation is just so stunning, and full of raw emotion. It's a relatable tale of how while life can be cruel, we can always have pit stops on our way towards the end as a reminder that we should enjoy the gift of life while we can.

I believe most people who are unhappy have constructed this ‘ideal’ success whether financially or romantically “have x amount of money and be in a loving relationship by this age” to a point where it becomes mentally harming if we can’t meet those expectations. We can’t help but compare ourselves to others or give in to societal/family pressures and everything kinda just slowly eats you away. Instead of relying out happiness on a particular objective (money, career status) I hope everyone can focus on short term goals that we can achieve. Take one step at a time and feel good for making that one step closer to light at the end of the road. Depression is rough. But decades later you will look back and regret wasting those years when you could’ve been enjoying the ‘little things in life’

Couldn't stop remembering/thinking about '아버지(/爸爸)' whilst listening to and watching this; searching for the happy end, a satisfying conclusion, but it breaks my heart, truth, in a different way. Life's a funny thing; it gets in the way, and slips out of one's hands just as easily, doesn't it? May we all use what time we have to love truly others and ourselves as much as we can. xJ
