I spend most of my time alone. If people are near me (even it's the bois from high school) I'll be in the end of the group, pretend to be busy with my own. I probably stayed there around 3-4 mins and go out. Then go to a quite street in the mountains and find nearest plain or park that's quite and not much people around. Enjoying the view and stayed there around 2 hour then left.

I don't know how to mentally relax, because everytime I try and I begin to feel better, I get better days and I'm in good mood one slip-up is enough to make me spiral back down aand then it takes me weeks to get back.

Everyone whos going through this: it’s ok. It will get better. Find what comforts you, find what you like. Find somebody who you love and when you are with eachother, it feels better. Does not always need to be a significant other, it can be a pet, friend or a family member, then also your partner. Do what makes you feel happy and better, or talk about it (I’m always here for a start) just so you know, it’s ok. You’ll be alright. Do what you love and what makes you happy. Make sure you take breaks if you’re stressed. The breaks will help you. but don’t push everything behind or you will be more stressed. there will always be something/someone that can help you ❤️

Being social is the number one source of undesired emotions. Social isolation has reduced my level of emotions to negligible levels. Social isolation is something all should try for a year to see if it is for them. My social isolation was supposed to be temporary, back in 8 August 2000. But it has such enormous benefits that I am still without friends and aquaintences today. The benefits of social isolation far outweigh the negatives of it. All should try it.

I can relate to pretty much all of these and I really have known something was off for a while. I just didn’t really know what it was. My mental state has been rolling down hill for around 4 or 3 years now. It really started with motivation. I just stopped having enough energy and little to no motivation to do anything even the things I loved. A little after my grades started falling I came from an all A’s student to barely scraping by. Then I stopped properly taking care of myself the main thing is eating. There where some days I would not eat and when my parents made dinner I would take it to my room set it down and about an hour later put the food in the fridge for someone else. I have also had problems with sleeping, self hygiene/care, My social life, being disorganized, and paranoia. I have really kinda given up on expressing my emotions as well. I do realize that it wasn’t the best decision but I don’t know what else to do. I feel like I have been backed into a corner with no where left to go. I have tried to get myself back on track but I can’t figure out how. At this point I am not even sure what has gone wrong. My life has just become a complete mess.

@Jonathan Neufeld Yes, I see many of the educational system's teaching practices as classic examples of not following the saying of actions speak louder than words". So what if I answer the question on the paper, how am I going to apply it in a real life scenario?
@SirPhysics
@SirPhysics 4 жыл бұрын
@Jonathan Neufeld Speaking as a teacher, a lot of the blame for that in the modern educational system is the push for "accountability" in the form of standardized tests a la No Child Left Behind or its successor Every Child Succeeds Act. It's incredibly difficult to write a multiple choice test which can be given to every student in a state which tests how to think. Some teachers really are trying, but the system is generally against us.

Taylor Beckwith “but we’re expected to just get over it” because more than likely your parents and their parents just got over it - it’s what they know. Now that doesn’t mean they are right but it doesn’t mean they are wrong. The key is psychology convinced parents to raise kids (like you) with participation trophies, you having a say in your punishments, timeouts, finding value in all that you do, not keeping score, etc. This caused children to be unable to deal with stress (most not all). So it’s not your fault, but you need to figure out a way to improve your abilities. I am someone who lives an extremely high stress life yet none of these things apply because I am wired (and that was my parents and environment as a start and then my development) to handle this. You can too and I would suggest you need to build these skills.

I’ve noticed that becoming “socially isolated” is a theme among mental illness. But for me, there haven’t been changes-I’ve always been isolated. I’ve never declined social invitations, because no one wants to hang out with me. I WOULD love to hang out with people but at this point I’d just be way too nervous to do so anyway. Oh well.

Burnout is becoming an epidemic. Our bodies were simply not designed to undergo the amount of stress and pressure that most people deal with on a day to day basis. Most people spend the majority of their lives in survival mode, not ever fully resting or getting their physical or emotional needs really met. It’s so important that we begin to take much better care of ourselves, and to learn to slow down and only include things in our lives that truly add value and hold true importance. It’s ok to step back sometimes or rest when you need to. Know how deeply you matter and that by taking care of yourself, you are able to offer your best self to the world and begin to enjoy life and not just endure it. I recently made a video on this topic. Be good to yourselves, beautiful souls! ♥️ Happy new year!

Um how should I say this every week or every month reward yourself with something for doing something productive start small for example read 60 pages of a book in a week and then reward yourself with a nice meal or going to cinema or buy something small for yourself Just reward yourself it will feel good and you will have motivation to do more. I was burned out after summer and I did that I started small rewarded small and etc now I’m doing pretty good in education and relationships and I reward myself better for example I rewarded myself for christmas with new Phone because I was super productive in december. Do this and you will feel difference in time

Lack of motivation of what I am doing is a big one for me. At the same time, pondering about what I am doing makes me wonder if it is worthwhile in the future. Currently in post-secondary and feeling the weight on my shoulders. Being aware of it and figure out what you want to do with it is a step forward. Thanks for this

I have extremely few friends. Down to 2. But they're worth it. They got my back. One I've known for 20 yrs. The other, 6 months. It takes a lot of going thru ppl to find the real ones. Don't give up. As soon as I've said I give up, I find one worthy person. We are all resilient. That's why we keep going.

Thank you so much for this!! Now I know it is called "emotional burnout" that I am suffering with. I relate to every single signs of this. This is exactly what I have been dealing with and it is exhausting. I definitely feel hopeless. I don't even know how to get help because I can't talk to people, especially not about my feelings. I always shut down and keep it for myself which is not very healthy but what else am I supposed to do.

Honestly it is good advice, they could be more specific and practical with it but destressing is very healthy, pls try meditation it clears your mind and helps you focus on what YOU want to think about not your brain running away on anxious tangents. Also medication can do wonders, any anxiety medicine is very helpful but can take a few weeks to get to optimal results. I personally have found cbd to be AMAZING. As long as you are over 18 it is legal, no card needed, and it has optimal results almost immediately and you can play with the dosage to get the right fit without worrying about taking too much or something because it's super healthy compared to medication. Anyways I have also learned to basically lasso my thoughts and counter them with positivity but again, meditation and medication are an absolute miracle from God. I don't know you but love ya. Hope things get better for you soon!

imagine this,you was living your life as a kid and even tho your life wasn't great you don't really care about it,it doesn't affect you in any way,you met a girl,get to know her,get attach to her but then you grow up and you realize that all the thing that doesn't affect you before starting to have negative impact on you,you start to stay up late at night,thinking about your life,crying alone at 3AM.you never thought that you would become like this but you still have something to strive for,you still have someone you can talk to,life still wasn't really good but it's still your life,you was trying your best to turn your life around,to be a better person but then one day out of nowhere that girl said that she doesn't want to be with you anymore,she doesn't even said why and the worst part is that you don't really have anyone else you would want to talk to.you suffer from a mental breakdown .. eventually after a while of strugging you get back up,you try to make things right,but everything you do just wasn't working,life just feel meaningless at that point.even though you aren't crazy yet,but you just can't seem to want to do anything anymore,you feel useless,you blame yourself for everything that happened,so now .. i want to ask you,what would you do if you were in that situation
