I had to come to the realization that I'm not like everyone else. My gifts and my curses make me who I am. And I'm allowed to be me because that's all I can be. As long as you're not directly hurting someone, you're allowed to be you. And we can tamper the "negative" aspects of ADHD and anxiety with therapies like DBT and CBT, but it should be at the cost of losing ourselves in the process.

Something that wasn't really mentioned in this video is that a recent study has shown that ADHD can be divided into two categories, Impulsive and Inattentive. Some people can also fall under both or have a main side with characteristics of the other. This study combined the idea of ADD and ADHD causing ADD to fall under the category of ADHD as a whole. If you're interested in this topic, I recommend doing your own research into it. Also..... Could it be possible if there could be a video made on the topic of hyperactive ADHD and inattentive ADHD? :D

To live is to suffer, to be alive is to find meaning in the suffering. We all struggle to find the meaning behind the suffering. It's not something to seek more than it is us running from something. “Sometimes you no longer recognize yourself. You want to overcome it, but it overcomes you. You want to set limits, but it compels you to keep going. You want to elude it, but it comes with you. You want to employ it, but you are its tool; you want to think about it, but your thoughts obey it. Finally, the fear of the inescapable seizes you, for it comes after you slowly and invincibly. - Carl Gustav Jung, The Red Book: Liber Novus

@@Psych2go Thank you! 😊 I actually related to a lot of the things that were said in the video. We both get unfocused and distracted, but for different reasons. His is more consistent, but mine is more circumstantial. Both are sort of in reaction to being over-sensitive to things going on around us. I also tend to overthink my decisions and worry about the future more, but I don't have the impulsivity. He tends to be more impulsive, but doesn't worry as much or overthink decisions as much as I do. Hope this helps!

I still had to rewind cuz I wasn’t focusing on the content . Thanks for the video 🥰 It did give me more distinction. Having both can be hard to treat because some symptoms I can relieve (anxiety) but others are constantly there with short and minor relief occasionally.

YES! That is me! I overthink so much and my internal monologue will not shut off and I am constantly going back to questioning if I really have ADHD. I have attributed all my struggles to anxiety and depression. When both of those things are in check I do better with things like cleaning, prioritizing etc. HOWEVER, I still procrastinate. Always have done it, always rushing out the door last minute and not being able to find keys, phone etc. Never understanding why I don’t just get myself together and do just the few steps necessary to make life easier. Messy house, things just thrown in a corner or in a drawer and I am hating it and know better but I don’t execute what I know. The overthinking if I really have ADHD has overtaken the improvement ADHD medications would help. Plus the rollercoaster ride of irritability when the medication starts to wear off I get more irritable.

This video is useful for people to understand loved ones with ADHD&Anxiety. Understanding “consistent inconsistency,” a common element of life with ADHD, is key to understanding the persistent anxiety of living with ADHD. “Consistent inconsistency” describes the distrust and uncertainty in yourself that builds up after years of experiencing ADHD symptoms such as inattention, overwhelm, memory lapses, and more. “Consistent inconsistency” is knowing, for example, that a task needs to be accomplished, but doubting the ability to get it done. Hope never dies, people can find the best coping mechanism to feel better.

For focus, I'm hard of hearing, but I also do have a difficult time focusing on tasks for a long period of time, especially with talking to other people. It's confusing if I have ADHD because of this, but I'm not going to just diagnose myself. But I do find myself being anxious all the time.

I actually do have both. I was diagnosed with them at a very young age. I've actually never been medicated for either of them. All of these are extremely relateble.

Hello, friends! I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to share some advice. Don't forget that it can get better! It might feel impossible to get better right now, but ADHD and anxiety isn't always life long, and ADHD and anxiety don't define who you are, either. And if you want to get better, you can take some steps, and you *will* get better. Keep going! You got this, friend! 🤍🤍🤍

I have anxiety and my psychiatrist is currently checking if I have ADHD as well. If I do, it’s mild, but my mind is sometimes all over the place and my body can feel uncomfortable cause I have this chaos feeling inside like I can’t control it, and I can’t focus properly sometimes. I’m very restrictive and intelligent though so I don’t have the biggest problems with health nor school, and I’m very grateful for that. What knocks me out is my anxiety. For 6 months I felt miserable and could barely do everyday tasks without being overwhelmed and having panic attacks. I had hard times going out and doing school but I got help and medication and I’m in a lot better place now tho I will say I still struggle sometimes, but it’s MUCH more manageable now. To everyone out there who is struggling, no matter what you’re struggling with, you’re so strong. Keep going but remember to take breaks and prioritise yourself and your health. You got this.

I've been diagnosed with both but it's hard to tell what's what sometimes. Simplest way to put it is I spend most of my time thinking to myself, and inside my own head, whether good thoughts or bad

I get scare easily and move around a lot and my dad always tels me to "Breathe" and "I'm being anxious" which I always believe but my mom says I am too young to know if I have anxiety or not (I'm 12 and turning 13 in october), also one time my mom walked into my room to tell me to do something and when I looked at her she said It looked like I have ADHD. Usually when I talk about my little brother who has ADHD, my dad says I act like that too sometimes which surprises me. I saw this video and thought this might be very helpful knwing you guys since 4th grade being bored inside during the pandemic. And it helped a lot, I do almost all of these things 24/7 and knowing that I might have these makes me say "We'll have to find out". Thanks a bunch

I don't have ADHD, but I already knew that I have anxiety and I don't know why but I instantly started crying when I saw the "no escape" point. I guess I feel like I can't escape myself. I should really talk to a specialist. Good luck on your own journey, everyone.

I honestly related to basically all of these signs, it’s pretty much the main thing my friends noticed when we first started hanging out. Most just assumed I had already been diagnosed with both or one or the other. I’ve never been diagnosed, I honestly didn’t think I had either till I was about in the 3rd grade. Though mental health and conditions aren’t much talked about in my family so it’s taken a very long time to ask for help. Soon I will be seeing a professional and I plan to mention things like this

I have anxiety and ADHD but i already knew that before watching this. I just wanted to take this as a chance to realise how my brain is feeling. I have RSD so when i get corrected or get told to stop doing something it ruins my morals completely. My mum has actually just told me it is possible i have autism so a video showing do you have autism for both girls and boys. Boys and girls have different symptoms. If you ever do or already have that would be great!

My anxiety started when i was 10, when i would try to sleep i started to feel scared and i would have panick attacks because it felt like i couldnt breathe, feeling anxious in public surroundings or different situations. I still deal with social anxiety but i have gotten use to it on how to cope and its not as bad

The thing that led to my ADHD diagnosis at 33 was a very persistent anxiety disorder. My therapist couldn't figure out why I'm not improving despite CBT and kept saying there must be something else. Well, she was right.

Hey thank you so much for this video! It was really nice. Just wanted to say one thing. I thin Kyon focused on the impulsivity and hyperactivity part of adhd quite a bit and a lot of the times especially in adults those symptoms are not that prevalent. Or its more internalized with mental hyperactivity for example. I wish you could’ve talked more about those aspects as well

As someone who has already gone through what you have, do it! It's so much better for your health and your mind will become more clear. Make a plan for where you want to go and for how long you want to stay in your new future home. And plan your budget ahead of time.

I moved out when I turned 20 so don't rush it btw. I wasn't ready but had no choice other than move out. If you have a choice, stay with your toxic family and grow your money until you can be financialy stable enough to pay rent for the next 3 months after you leave on your own.

I feel like this is the only advice I can really give you if you really are going to go through with moving out. If you do, I'm rooting for you! I relate to all. I believe I have ADHD and Anxiety and have for over 2 years now. It took a long time to convince my parents to let me see someone about it, but all they did was slightly mention it to my family doctor. Oh how badly I wanted to speak up and actually say my view and how I was feeling!!…. But I was too anxious to speak and just sat their quietly, fidgeting with my fingers and zipper, feeling like things are crawling on me while lightly tapping my leg. 🙃❤️
