I’m going to clear the air about why he choked her. One of Prince Ye’s good friends and a father figure to him passed away. But, from more investigation he had reason to believe that he was unfortunately assassinated. Now before this incident, Tong had entered the palace, the Emperor had ordered her to marry Prince Ye. She woke up at midnight because she was hungry so she snuck into the cafeteria. Her fiancé, who didn’t recognize her thought she was a thief. To escape from him she threw a pack of smoke at him. The smoke had some chemicals that can make someone sick. He had found out that the same smoke had been used to assassinate his friend. In others words, he thought she was thief and a killer. There ya go!

Lol yes like the opening credits are teasing this show like it’s a Haram, but the guy, once he smartens the f*ck up (generally by realizing A, she’s not the actual girl he was to marry and B, she hates said family for abusing her and abandoning her to that mountain shack, so he finds that rebellion attractive) is like “Not even a chance that’s my treasure.”
