Being a witness, and knowing what one's memory as a victim is, are different. Loftus may use one anecdotal "Titus" case and these many false witness memory manipulations, these don't imply all victims of long term rape and abuse as children, will have false victim memory. But, that's what's implied and I don't agree that a long term victim will have a false memory. They suppress, and partition memory so that the trauma is put in the brain differently than what normal people do. especially child victims of rape/molestation will dissociate, they've no place to process the confusion, no place to know what's safe anymore. Therefore, partitioning the memory away for a long time is a commonality for boys. The memory is correct, known, but unable to process it, it's languishing in a painful rabbit hole, and will surface with triggers. Again, a witness is different than the actual victim. Revictimizing happens when a person like Loftus is preemptively used by defense for the use of her so called expertise of memory. Yet, that too is manipulation, like her experiments to prove people's memories of witness are faulty. It's fomenting bias toward all memory!!Read more Show lessRead more Show less

Does she actually say that the Titus case applies to all memory, and all cases of abuse? I don't think I've ever heard her imply that, or suggest it, ever? What you say seems very reasonable, I just think perhaps you're attacking something she hasn't actually said..?

Yeah stop projecting buddy... Her research is widely accepted and revered by many, including me! Get out of your emotional baggage and stop making things up. Her science is well proven. You sound like an idiot. And like you could use some therapy.

For every skeptic like Loftus there are at least 10 believers and religious apologists looking for stories of suppressed satanic abuse etc. Victims will always have a battle for sure and no reason to shoot a messager but the point is preventing even more victims if certain techniques have major flaws. With extremely emotional situations it's crucial to acknowledge the issue of gullibility as the brain will search for a way to again seal off or solve a problem. So the question "are you sure?" Becomes relevant before more witches are burned etc.

Julia Reed LOL!!! I did, and although many years ago there was some controversy for which *SHE WAS CLEARED,* none of what you said was true. I strongly suggest that you don't make claims against someone unless you can back them up. 🙄
