Cognitive impairment is real. I have been off it cold turkey and my cognitive abilities have improved. Not suicidal but sad and crying a lot.

How have they improved? I want to get off of it for sexual dysfunction and fear of getting kidney problems. Do you want to replace it with some other medicine?

What type of lithium are we talking about? Lithium orotate? Or carbonate

Lithium has helped with my Libido and ED....That is why I looked it up, Maybe it is the treatment from lithium and easing my mind

Hmm... I'm on Wellbutrin off label as an alternative to stimulants for ADHD because of my Bipolar 2. Will that triple the likelihood of me becoming more depressed? I found that Seroquel increased my depression 10 fold. Thank goodness I'm off that. Right now I'm just on Wellbutrin and my doctor wants to add Lithium to prevent mania. I am extremely concerned about taking this medication since I have a strong family history for Hashimotos.

Using lithium oratate the organic form not the pharma kind. Add. Neuroag and o.ega 3 s. A good multi. And lots of veggies.

Is there any data about the efficacy of treating women with sildanifil for SD related to these medications? I feel like female sexual disorders get overlooked even though they are more prevalent just because with men an erection must be maintained in order for the act to occur. Women's sexual satisfaction is somehow less important. I'm not saying the presenter had this attitude at all, just a general observation with clinicians.

You’re right. I went to the doctor for a sexual problem and left crying when I was only 21 because the doctor was down right mean and dismissed my problem

A pill to cover a symptom isn’t healing. It’s like giving someone pain medicine for a broken leg without healing.

Why does lithium have metabolic side effects if it’s improving brain function?

It prevents your kidneys from being able to excrete toxins. The urine is clear and you retain water like crazy. Not to mention digestion problems. I always get hemorrhoids, gas and diarrhea.

@@Bababui69 do you plan on getting off of it? I’ve been on lithium for the past 7 years and I’m scared of the kidney effects. Idk what to do.

@@jasminecontreras7341 i was on lithium for a good while and never had any kidney issues i still go back and have the ultra sounds im A-okay and have been on meds my whole life even had over 10 years of drug addiction.
