This is our version of Iron Maiden's "Caught Somewhere In Time". An attempt to retain the 'soul' of the original but give it a 'Psycrence touch' and modern sound. We hope you enjoy!

What’s great is that this is YOUR BAND’S OWN VERSION, not just a sub-par copy and paste. And great cover versions of songs keep the original’s heart alive and ensure it never gets forgotten. Bravo, guys 👏

The members and all the stuff in Maiden need to hear what a MEGA masterpiece have you done with this MASTERPIECE. You deserve to go on tour with them as a prize. Also they need to play this track again before they retire. They have a debt with all of the Somewhere in Time fans.

You guys are true artists. I am still pretty hooked to the original, but this version is really amazing. No doubt now is in my list. I was greatly surprised with the "acoustic" parts and how the heavy sounds emerges and fits with them. Specially like the heavy sound of the instruments and how is performed. Very well performed (not an easy one). Thanks for making and sharing. Keep on rocking! Glad I discovered Psycrence.

You played that song very good, and have your own style also your own colour. The arrangement that you made in this song, is totally different with the original one. It doesn't sound like seventies or eighties music era. It is more like 2000-es Rock music era. I love it. Good luck you all guys.

At first I thought it would be an orchestral version of the song. Then the guitars started. At 1:01 I literally went batshit! You nailed the intro of this song! I like how it's tuned down a bit. A song always feels new again when you listen to it at a different pitch. I think you missed a few important melodic parts but that's just nitpicking. Great cover! Great sound!

Nice cover, probably the best cover I've heard. Obviously this band are big maiden fans, and you can tell that by the passion being put into making this song. The original for me is better, but let's face it, iron maiden are a machine, that quite frankly are hard to top in every way. However, this is still a really good cover, and I can't stop listening to it. thanks for making it 👍

Somehow, this version is heavier, yet less energetic. Quite fantastic, but I still prefer the original overall. But what I appreciate is that this isn't a carbon copy of the original, it does offer something new.

Hi Axle, thanks for your honest opinion. I think what might account for the "less energetic feel" are basically two things. First, the song is tuned down one and a half steps, since our singer doesn't have the same range as Bruce. The second thing are the drums. In the original, McBrain is "galloping" pretty much through the entire song (and along with him the guitars and the bass) which gives the song more energy. We made a conscious choice to discard that, and add more variation to the drum patterns to let the song breathe and give space to the heavy guitars and the synths. This resulted to a more heavy and atmospheric arrangement which might be lacking in other aspects compared to the original. Well, obviously we can't have it all ;) Anyway, like you said, we just wanted to offer a different perspective, not replace the original :)

I definitely felt that the drums had something to do with it, but not being a drummer, I didn't want to say that I knew for sure that was it. Also, I forgot to note how I really like the echoy, clean take on the intro to this song, I feel it really suits it well, as well as your vocalist(covering a song whose original is sung by a legend like Bruce and doing it justice is hard, but you nailed it). Thank you for responding to me by the way, it's rare to get to engage in discourse with the musician that made something you liked. I did only just discover you guys through this cover album being recommended to me, but I can say I'm definitely sold on your talent and certainly intend to check out more of your guys' work in the future.

Totally agree! Overall a very good cover, I like the addes synth track, but the cover loses a lot of flow because of the midtempo drumming. Especially in the chorus.

One of the best songs in history .. "Somewhere in time is my favorite album" and I love Iron Maiden, but honestly I like this cover more than the original track from 1986. I know that is stupid comparing different music eras and styles. The original song is amazing, but this one sounds particularly aggressive, fresh and so fucking cool. (I think for instance that the version of Madina Lake doesn't keep the original intention of the song, in other words, it sucks. But nevertheless this one is the best cover I've heard in long long time. Psycrence, what a band! I can't stop listen this at full volume! 666 lml

I actually kinda like this cover more then the original….. before you flame me, hear me out lol. Maiden has that iconic “galloping” style and I think this song demonstrates that gallop as well as any other maiden song. This cover has a heavier tone then the original and I think that tone really compliments the gallop style of this song specifically. And the acoustic intro/outro is really cool. I never thought a maiden cover would ever be as good as the original but I think this is the one exception to the rule. Just my opinion.

Not sure what you mean by 'futuristic'. It's certainly not a word that comes to mind when I hear the original song. But, in any case, you're right, we didn't go for a 'futuristic' feeling in our version.
