I am so glad that I ran into your video after watching a bunch of videos. I have been feeling so frustrated with soy 464 not giving me good HT. I am new to candle making, and I am still on testing. Today, I tested about 8 candles with different fragrances, but all had a horrible HT. At some point, I felt some regrets why I chose to do a candle business instead of a t-shirt business😢. But after watching you video it has motivated me a lot, and I am looking forward to trying out freedom soy. I have always added it to my cart😂

Love your comment about abusing your candles. I've let mine burn from start to finish 36 hours to see how long they would burn. Never knew that was "candle abuse." I learned something new. Thanks!!

I thought I responded to this! 😮 Yes, “abusing” your candles is an essential part of testing, IMO. A lot of customers don’t think to time a burn for 4 hrs. They light the candle and don’t think about it again 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@CandleMakingCoach tried making candles a few years ago but was discouraged when for the life of me I couldn't get the hot throw right. With the info in the video I feel inspired to give it a try again. Quick question about the digiboil... first that looks awesome I'll have to look into getting one of those.. but for the question I assume the number on the side says how hot it is set to (172), but you mentioned it was hotter (190ish). Or does that number mean something else?
@CandleMakingCoach
@CandleMakingCoach 9 ай бұрын
Oh that’s awesome!! That’s why I do this!! For my digiboil when I set it to about 172-174 it brings the wax to about 192. So it’s about a 20 degree difference.

I am happy I found someone else who is using freedom soy wax! I just started making candles and this is the first wax I have tried. I am blending beeswax in to help the tops and when shipping. Have you done that before? Thanks for your help!
@CandleMakingCoach

I love freedom soy. I blend a bit of coconut wax just customize it but I get smooth tops almost every time (unless my room is cold). So far I haven’t had a problem shipping them but I plan on getting some ice packs or thermal packing materials.

@@CandleMakingCoach I’m so glad that I found you. I don’t see very many videos with people using this brand. I also saw that you’re in OK! I am too! Have you had any issues with air bubbles or sink holes? What about after the candle burns? Are you still getting a smooth top or is it bumpy or stretched? Thanks so much for your help!!!

@@CandleMakingCoach My house is usually very cold or warm. We don’t regulate the temperature that much. I was trying to insulate the candles with aluminum casserole pans by putting one underneath and one on top. It’s not very practical on a larger scale though. Do you ever insulate or help the cool down process at all?
@CandleMakingCoach
@CandleMakingCoach 4 ай бұрын
@@daniellecarder3092 oh great!! What part of OK? I also have a fragrance oil company. Industry88fragranceco.com. Yes my tops are smooth most of the time after burning but if you’re not regulating your house temp your candles could be cooling to quickly thus creating the soy tops that are just a characteristic of soy. If your jars came in their own box I’d pour while they’re in the box which will help insulate. I also pour on a wood table, not metal. Hope I’ve answered all your questions. I’d be happy to help with any others as well.

@@CandleMakingCoach I am in western OK about an hour from OKC! What about you? I am going to check out your fragrance oils now! Would be great to buy locally. That is a great idea on keeping them insulated. I’m going to try that today. I have also been using the double boiler method and I have had such a hard time with air bubbles. I don’t know what’s normal since I’ve only used the freedom soy and coconut soy wax from ASO. I’ve reached out to them but their response time is so slow. I am melting my wax low and slow and also very gently stirring, but I still get the craters, air bubbles, or the circle crack around the wick. Do you have issues with air bubbles? I can see bubbles coming up even when the wax is melting or the candle is burning. Is that normal? I don’t think I have ever paid attention this closely to a candle burning until now. I am also getting my digiboil in the mail today, so any tips appreciated! I purchased the Gen 1 since I saw people complaining about Gen 2 and that freaked me out. Hope I made a good choice. Thanks for your time!
