Finally, a better look at Larry's character arc in this series!

For those who have been following my community posts, you may also recognize some of the custom sprites I made for this video. Obviously I just drew over some preexisting image files from the sprites I do have access to, so it's not 100% my art.
The custom sprites for Larry were a little easier-- I mostly just changed the expressions on T&T Larry (Character code: ZCPCYJ).
Phoenix's brief appearance was a little harder. I basically took the image file of his mugshot and gave him a body (and different facial expressions, obviously)

Larry's fine. (lie) Also Miles Edgeworth can be a tiny bit of a hypocrite about talking about feelings but we'll forgive him because he's also emotionally constipated.

Rarely do I get engaged enough with a video longer than 10 mins to watch it till the end, but damn this did the job. As usual the dialogues are completely fit for appearing in the game. And Larry's sad sprites are perfect. The wait was long but worth it. Keep it up 💪💪💪

@@TheTrueTurtlegirl I joked that too, but honestly, this take on Larry actually makes this case even better! And I absolutely love Bridge To The Turnabout! The added illustrations, the added lore of Phoenix, Miles and Larry as kids as well as the restructuring of Larry trying to truly change himself as Laurice Deauxnim is all REALLY well done! Look forward to watching the next part whenever that will take place!

My god you’re literally a genius?? *Of course* Larry would’ve known about Phoenix dating Dahlia when he was still in college. There wouldn’t be any reason Larry wouldn’t have known, they were best friends at that point. That’s such a clever way of changing that plot point and making Larry more helpful like he was in AA1 instead of the whole blackmail Iris thing he did in the original game. Seeing you also actually write Larry being truly emotional actually made me feel bad for him. He’s not just a gag character! He can be funny but they don’t gotta drag him for it. Your writing of Larry actually makes him nuanced, with the same depth he could’ve had like Phoenix and Edgeworth in the games. Really helps solidify the trio friend group the first game had. MAN this series makes me wish they hadn’t done Larry so dirty like that. He’s always had untapped potential, you’re doing justice writing him with all of what could’ve been. Amazing work.

This is fantastic work, its great to see a non-flanderised Larry outside of AA1 lmao. With all the subtle changes in the plot and dialogue, it makes me hope that Edgeworth's childhood dream of being a DA comes up in some way , since its absence always felt weird to me, not even seeing Edgeworth thinking about it in passing. Maybe the other Judge mistakes his recollection of Miles for Gregory or something. As I say, the exclusion of any thought on Edgeworth finally living his childhood dream felt so weird to me.

Most of Miles reflecting on being a defense attorney will come up during the trial portion :> (hopefully that's not too spoilery, but I completely agree that his thoughts about being a defense attorney should have been touched upon more in-game)

Larry in the games isn't completely useless, but yeah, it is a lot of potential wasted. I slightly hate how in Spirit of Justice, they just keep Larry the exact same of the first trilogy instead of learning about his mistakes. The guy at least could have lived on like an artist and got famous (it is noticeable that his art skills are very good, more with the portraits, the group art sketch at the end of T&T and in Investigation 2 shows that) And looking at this version you made of him, just realizing about his mistakes and having an uneasy feeling about Iris just feel sooo Canon! WHY THIS ISN'T OFFICIAL?! If he knows about the "Miles Edgeworth choose the death" and now, looking how Phoenix, his other best friend, almost died in the "Bridge were no one else is seeing again, aleast alive" it had to be more shocking that Iris getting arrested.

AAAAHH NOT THE CLIFFHANGER Poor Larry I wanna hug him so bad. ;w; It's interesting he knows about the whole incident with Phoenix and Dahlia, I wonder how that will effect the plot later on, since Dahlia comes up much later in the case. Also Phoenix's hospital sprites were cool, didn't expect that :D

I like this part, a nice balance between investigation, "good old days talking" and sharing the background information with Dahlia Hawthorne with Edgeworth. It seems very fitting that Larry knew about this situation since I thought he kept in touch with Phoenix over the years, so... i buy this story. And as shocked as Edgeworth reacted to this matter he maybe would understand that Phoenix was really kind of heartbroken in his JFA absence. And I like it that Larry is telling Edgeworth his unbelievable story at the end, so I guess, without the Psycholocks, in order to help Edgeworth with his investigation. And no, he is not useless. Maybe he will get that sooner or later. This story is so damn nice, I want to see more of it.

Thank you for making this :D Btw I really appreciate what you did with Gumshoe in the series - poor guy never gets appreciated enough in canon, so seeing Edgeworth not demean him like he does in canon was really heartwarming. I hope the guy gets a raise at some point too

Chances are Larry would know, yeah. Phoenix around that time would be shutting down anyone that even brought up his name. Whether Larry would complain to Miles about Phoenix's state specifically, I don't know. We don't even really get to see Larry's reaction to learning that one of his childhood friends that had supposedly died was alive and kicking, even in-game. Butz the fact you believe that you are useless as a friend you aren’t. Sure, the breakup hurt but even with a friend begin there for someone is enough to help. I dont want to say that dating again isnt probably something someone like Phoenix wright would do after that. Things that hurt the most especially begin so in love..can never be wipe hopefully in time Phoenix would move on..I dont blame him..I honestly dont

I know a lot of people actually remark a good amount of moments, but can we remark that Larry in the OG game NEVER show up any importance with the fact that Elise, the one that he get "inspired" get murdered? They really made the guy dirty. I like how he show up he aleast care and is aware that the murder is a touching subject, not blindlying believing that Iris is innocent because of how much she looks like Dahlia, giving him that uneasy feeling

Perfect vid about larry This is what I was hoping to see when he said he wanted to change Beautiful And the fact he is going after Iris cause he recognise her Is clever cause 1this is unexpected when it comes to larry 2it makes him better cause he is not behaving like a creep(so he had already changed albeit a little) Also I like that edgeworth has doubts about Iris before the trial begins(he had them in og but honestly you could forget and nothing would change) This is quality writing Cant wait for another ep We already know what he is going to say to edgy :) You should write more characters that were wasted like larry

Loving thid series and the way it all naturally flows together. I'm loving the way you've potrayed Larry cause he also deserves some character growth too. Kinda wish a lot of media stop making goofball charas just stupid and a punching bag for everything.

@@plushlover7038 Sorry for the late response pfpff-- If you "examine" the flags on Heavenly Hall during this section of the game with Larry, he points out to Miles that it reminds him of decorating a classroom with origami in grade school-- to which Larry also recalls Miles wasn't good at origami back then pfpff-- The transcripts are up on the wiki if you want to check out the dialogue without having to play through BttT again, but yeah :>

I only found out about this series a couple hours ago and I gotta say that it just makes me soooooo happy! When I played the games over a decade ago, I always thought I wanted to see more of the dynamic of those three as friends. It was such an unexplored content and for me-as someone who shares a similar experience as to how those three became friends-it was a diamond in the rough. When we got the anime and we got more of their friendship, I was beyond ecstatic about it. I still think that Larry as a character was a bit underdeveloped because, according to what Shu Takumi said in an interview,unlike him, the developing team didn't like Larry. So, yeah, happy to see some justice for the Butz!

I adore this series and the changes you’ve made, it’s so interesting and of course Larry + the trio’s relationship in general gets to shine so much more! ik other ppl have said it already but you’ve nailed each character’s voice and the writing style of AA, I can easily see this being canon and I wish it was

I've never been into customed cases of AA, but THIS! Super great, super in character, I love your perspective on Larry. Thank you for your work ❤ These series brought my attention to details that I either forgot (like when Iris was asking Miles about who Phoenix is to him) or never thought of (like Edgeworth's thoughts on elevators - the "...I walk up a lot of stairs" threw me off guard). Again, thanks so much you for your work, I'll be waiting for the new episodes ;w;
