What is astounding is that Bhimanna had the Swara internalized so deeply that he begins singing without the samvadini or tanpura at 1:00 and then when they start playing, they are in absolute sync with him. It is possible that the tanpura must be on without being picked up in the recording yet the effect is really profound even before the entirety of this masterpiece performance has commenced! Wah!

It is in sync. Perhaps you get the impression because of the taal? Can't imagine Bhimsenji will continue to sing even for a moment if he thought the tabbalji was not doing good:)
