Rob is saying: “It has been almost 40 years that I´ve been occupied with flutes; both manufacturing and playing them. Not just Indian music, but also jazz and other genres. However, since I met Hariprasad Chaurasia, I started to focus on Indian classical music. During the time that I was in Rotterdam, he taught me about ragas. He really appreciated the flutes I had made for him. Playing the bansuri is rather complicated, because it has no valve system. With an instrument that does have valves, it is almost like pushing buttons, which doesn´t make it any easier, by the way. It requires a whole different skill set to play a flute without valves. The bansuri is a very charming instrument, because it lends itself very well to play glissando, which mimics the human voice really closely. At that, Hariprasad Chaurasia is a true master; playing this flute chromatically. Especially in certain ragas, those half notes are played very often. This intonation is of the utmost importance in Indian music, yet isn´t simple and it requires very much training.”

As beautiful as raag pahadi and raag mishra is, is there any other suggestions you can give that is similar to the tone in the later part of the video?
