I purchased the original PTO Connect for my Kubota L6060 after you posted your first video and have been very happy using it. Yes, it's not cheap, but I am well past my Best-Before-Date to be struggling with PTO shaft collars that are hard to get at. I use it for two mowers by taking off the implement end, which snaps on easily to the PTO shaft. Thanks Martin.

Hey Martin, I've been eyeballing these contraptions for a while. What I would like to Know is how hard is it to swap the drive shaft side between attachments. if i need to buy half for each attachment it would be a no go. I would like to see a review in 6 or 8 months after you have a chance to use it. as always, keep the good content coming! Bubba

Hey Bubba! Swapping the drive shaft side is easy. I demonstrated it in the first PTO connect video. So you really only need one set, in my opinion. Thanks for watching!

Those things are so appealing. The only thing that has stopped me has been the price. I only have 4 pto implements any more. This would have been sweet when I was farming. I had manure spreaders, the grinder/ mixer mill, the hay baler, sprayer pumps, stalk choppers, etc. As I get older, I am thinking more all the time about getting these to make my life easier. I always have to fight with my brush hog getting it hooked up to my Kubota. Once on, it stays on until I am done mowing for the season. I have over 100 acres of pasture to mow so it is on from early June until some time in August. Although I only hook it once each season, some times it doesn’t go well. Even hooking up my old John Deere manure spreader to my 520 John Deere gives me a real challenge. How much you want to bet Martin that I will have 2 of those before spring? 😀
@DIYMyWay
@DIYMyWay Жыл бұрын
Hi Gary! Yep, as we get older, PTO hooks ups get harder, not that they were ever easy! I’d say odds are you will get one. The SD Easy Max can be easily moved between your tractors and it’s easy to connect the PTO shaft portion to the PTO shafts before hooking up to the tractor so you can get by with one set if you don’t mind moving the set. Thanks for watching!

Hi Don! If your PTO length is shorter than 3”, you’d need the universal model. Otherwise, I’d recommend the SD Easy Max. It does cost more but I really like the ease of putting it on and taking it off. Thanks for watching!

@@DIYMyWay Thanks a bunch, Martin. I'll remember that. It's often a rough time hooking up my PTO to the tractor. I almost have to psych myself up, take several Geritol tablets then get into a zen-mode before tackling, Lol. 🤣 Ten years ago, I gave little consideration as to how difficult hook-ups were. Nowadays, sitting in a chair to tie my dang shoes seems to be a challenge. 🤣

Little concerned about the 'Backlash' I saw in the SD Connect (Not like the PTO does not already have a backlash effect on a long rod and all the gears that they tend to drive) But...

Martin, I bought the original standard set after you did a video on it. Now they have the improved easy max, and I would very much like to have that. However, I just retired and spending another $369 is just not feasible for me right now. Are they going to offer a trade-in upgrade program??? Enjoy you videos! Thanks!
@DIYMyWay
@DIYMyWay Жыл бұрын
Hi diamondharp! I don’t know of any trade-in programs but you can certainly ask them. However, if you have just one tractor and no need to remove the PTO Connect or switch it between tractors, I wouldn’t bother upgrading. The original version will serve you well…as long as you use that safety clip. 😁 Thanks for watching!

In your opinion, how does it compare to PTO Link?
@DIYMyWay
@DIYMyWay 24 күн бұрын
I have both and made videos on both. PTO LInk is a simpler design, meaning less to go wrong in the long run. One issue is you have to make sure you don’t lose the pin for it, although they do sell replacements. If you go with PTO LInk, I’d by a spare pin up front. Thanks for watching!

It might be weird to say, but it seems I am the only one that does not have any issue or struggle to put my PTO shafts on. Might it be the configuration of the old machine though... Thanks!

Hi Joe! Yes, that’s right. You are the only one who doesn’t struggle with PTO hook ups. Others may say they don’t but they are lying. 😁 I’ve seen the amazing machines you design and build, so it is no wonder it that you can do it easily. Thanks for watching, my friend!

I have watched both your reviews of the PTO Connect SD Easy Max and the PTO LInk (different companies). I would like to get one for my dad... which one is better/easier? Which do you prefer to use on your own equipment? My dad will use it for brush hog and chipper. Thanks for your reviews!

The last time I tried to use the SD Easy Max it was jamming on me and I couldn’t get it on, so I used the PTO Link. The PTO Link is a much simpler design so there’s not much to go wrong with it. You just have to make sure you don’t loose the locking pin. They sell extra pins so I recommend getting a spare. Thanks for watching!

Hey Martin, thanks for sharing. I have the PTO Connect Standard adapter with the safety clip. Am I understanding correctly that the Easy Max does not need a safety clip? Thanks! Dave
@DIYMyWay

Hi Dave! That is correct. The beefier locking “beans” in the SD Easy Max eliminates the need for safety clip. Thanks for watching!

So I have an L2501 with Land Pride QH10 - 3-Point Quick Hitch, will this not work due to the quick hitch? You mentioned something about it in the video, but wasn’t sure.
@DIYMyWay
@DIYMyWay Жыл бұрын
It should work even better since as I said in the video a quick hitch solves the potential problem of PTO shafts being too long after adding the PTO connect. Likewise, if you already have a quick hitch, the PTO Connect solves the solves the potential problem of PTO shafts being too short after adding the quick hitch. Thanks for watching!

It would be a consideration if I didn't have multiple PTO implements. Simply too expensive for me even with 10% off. Also seems odd they don't offer the Easy Max implement side separately since I imagine I'm not the only one with multiple pieces of equipment to attach.
