I've had one horrible experience and I called Patient Advocacy and reported the issue with the doctor. I received a called about two weeks later and explained the horrible DBQ experience. Low and behold this same doctor had numerous complaints. Please stand strong and advocate for yourselves knowing that you've diligently served your country and deserve your benefits 😇🙏🏽🇺🇲

I’m learning so much from yalls videos. Sadly I took the VAs word in 1994 with 0% rating for chronic feet pains. Plantar fasciitis. Now I’ve been diagnosed ptsd depression and anxiety. Not to mention all the other aches I have from my bad feet. I got 10% for plantar fasciitis 3 yrs ago. This week my exam for ptsd and more disability on my feet. Im 52 next month. It’s never too late, but I wish I’d listened to my mom years ago when she would tell me to go get help. She was 7 when her oldest brother returned from WW2 and saw all he’s injuries he received. He was still going to BAMC in San Antonio in the 70s to remove shrapnel. He finally got 100% around 2010 a few yrs before he passed. Sad. Always listen to your mom. Good luck everyone.

Not all ptsd goes back to one specific stressor. It can be many repeated things. Just like constant noise in hearing loss. MST over years for example.

The treatment at my local VA changed tremendously from my initial claim in 1993 and the one I re filed in 2012. I had an attitude because of the 18 years of denial when a doctor had previously made a diagnosis, but that evidence was never entered because it was at a 28 days recovery clinic. Since 2012 I have gradually felt somewhat accepted and recently have received a Stella Ganglia Block for PTSD, chiropractic and acupuncture for muscle skeletal pain. In 2012 I had buddy statements and a fresh diagnosis from an independent Psychiatrist. The award stated why they did not find 70% and why they found 50%. The effective date is January 2012.

An overlooked cause of PTSD is how a veteran is treated in the months leading up to their discharge. I was treated horribly before my discharge. Threatened, spoken to condescending, and bullied into taking a general discharge. And this is after having received two honorable discharges. They completely broke my will to fight back, as well as nearly breaking my will to live. Good old boy, politics. Nine years and three months, and all I received for that service was a racist boot in the rear. How ironic is this? My discharge was grossly mishandled, but who do you tell this to? The only mental health professional;.were and still are white. But finally, after forty-six years, I have found a mental health professional who is black, and I intend to pour my heart, as well as my heartships, out to her.

I have learned not to trust the VA C&P examiners. They are in a hurry to get the exam done, miss word(s) or fail to mention what you tell them, and the exams are all subjective to the person asking the questions.

The VA in Washington D.C. first told me "It may sounds like you have PTSD". They sent me to Ft. Belvoir who then said I have anxiety and depression. This was all back in DEC2014. I'm not sure what to think anymore. I was awarded 30% for my gut issues back in JAN2020 and it has seem to gotten worse this past November.

2/24/2023, Charlie D. I applied for combat PTSD first in 1979 (flyer being home from VN for 10 yrs (4th Inf, purple ❤, CIB, ACM w/ “V”) at the 15:04 suggestion of the DAV in DC. W/O getting into all details, I was diagnosed with major Depression&acute anxiety… but not service related for PTSD. We appealed/denied, appealed to the Board/ denied. Didn’t understand what PTSD was but accepted and moved on. Re-applied in 2012 and awarded 70% PTSD & 10+10 for hearing + tennitus=80%. I was very excited for the recognition! Can I go back to 1979 and make a claim for 1979-2012? I’ve heard Yes an No🤪please give me some insight!

Hello, I appreciate the information given but what happens when a 8-year Vet gets his VA care dropped. I been suffering with these damn symptoms since 2016 and 2021 I got the word that I have Vestibular nerve damage, arthritis of the neck, on top of bipolar 1, ptsd, multiple concussions, hostility, there's more but in Sept.2021 th VA psychiatrist told me im also suffering from TBI then canceled my med's and future appts. My last concussion recorded was before my discharge in 2008. Ive always had to kinda snap to be heard and although I do enjoy that state of mind, I'd rather use that tool to maintain that energy for a more righteous purpose.
