When my neighbour lost her husband and she started walking her little dog when she went down the road and round the corner he always went towards the pub door, we laughed because she said the dog had always had a good long walk with her husband lol.😂

Airedales are wonderful. Full of character but often rather obstinate. Our Airedale, Pete, especially in later years would suddenly sit down on a walk and refuse to go any further. No amount of coaxing him would get him to go on. But, turn for home and he was back on his feet in a jiffy. We are our 9th dog now and we loved them all but Pete was something rather special. To think, back 80 odd years ago they were actually trained to be police dogs! Great video, thank you.

I recently retired. My Airedale Terrier and I started running on the beach in St. Pete Beach, FL USA. We end up at The Horse and Jockey. The result is the same. Airedale Terriers Rock!

Our Airdale Sandy went off into the village eventually the police rang to say he was in the local off licence yes we did used to go in there on our walks!

I had a foreman trade in his pick up truck. A coworker bought it. He said there’s something wrong with that truck. Foreman bellows There is not! I took good care of that truck. New owner: Every time I drive past Ralphies it stalls and pulls to the curb. 😂

I loved this just as it is...but also because our 18 month old French Bulldog does this very thing with our local too. He literally runs to the pub from half way along our walk. He wont let us pass the door. In our case, its because I worked there when we first got him, it was the first place I took him outwith our home. Was great for socialising him, but unfortunately, my manager absolutely loves all animals and would let him behind the bar and gave him treats. Which was lovely at the time, but not so much now that theres new management and I don't work there anymore either. Poor wee Rocco doesn't understand hes not allowed behind the bar anymore and we get the same scene as with this big boy in the video! As a result we now try to walk other ways, especially if time is short!

I had Airedale terriers. They used to come to the pub with me. My last one had a 'party trick', opening packets of crisps ( chips in the US). He would drive all the air to one end of the packet, the pop it open with the other. One day, my mother decided to take him for a walk in town. A similar thing happened to her as in the video, she felt a pull on the lead, and the next thing she knew, she was standing at the bar ordering a drink! The locals were all making a fuss of the dog. For those who think this was bad, all my dogs lived long and happy lives.
