In my Jr high one of the security gaurds was having a sexual relationship with a student. It was common knowledge.

Hello! Fellow California “homeschool mom” here I was wondering if you were still with ilead? If so how is it going?

No I'm not. I should make a video about that soon. I just found that the school was trying to direct what we did too much, and it was stressful for me.

We would get asked, and still do, about socializing. I laugh. Our child is the most social and secure in her way to verbalize and express herself unlike those her age or older. Schools actually do not teach that back and forth, healthy and respectful dialogue. Teachers are focused on being in charge and taking control of thier class that they shut down kids in a very unhealthy way. In many ways the teachers are versions of bullies just to have a level of respect in a class because teachers are not really required to engage and involve the kids. Children need nurturing and opportunities to speak, share and learn from the mistakes....and not feel beaten down by it. We have a more open and readily space to discuss anything in the moment without shutting it down as if her questions do not matter. Homeschooling is not easy, but what can make it manageable is realizing it changes and grows like our children do, so leave room for change and adjustments. Absolutely love all your points. I do agree with safety and the examples our children can be exposed to outside of homeschooling. It's oh so true, sadly. Great video!!!
