What you have done is unforgivable, this there is no denying, but you aren't a horrible person. You're a person who did some really bad decisions and regrets it. The difference between a horrible person and a person who did a horrible decision is actually shown with how you reacted with the situation with your first public statement, you didn't try and justify your actions and you showed genuine remorse and guilt. A horrible person wouldn't feel that way or say the things you said, they would have actually enjoyed what they did even after the fact, they wouldn't have felt the emotion of guilt or regret. You did however and you repeated many times that you wish to repent for it, showing you have hope of redemption and you still have humanity in your heart, things a horrible person wouldn't have, so keep striving and rebuild yourself as a human again. And remember that there will always be people who care for you and love you even in your darkest times.

I'll copy/paste what I wrote barely an hour ago: "If you are still genuinely so afraid of slipping into those habits like you sound in the last video's description, maybe it is time to get actual professional help, assuming you aren't already. That will help more than "imploring the community to help guide me to be a better person", especially since you won't have to worry about slipping back while talking face to face with a professional."

Seeking professional help is also very important to be able to eventually forgive yourself. Those feelings of guilt can eat you up from the inside if you just let them fester... Forgiving oneself is something very hard to do, even if others forgive you. Please look for a therapist that is legit and sort yourself out. Also, worse people than you have managed to redeem themselves and forgive themselves; You said you feel like you don't deserve it, but considering your feelings of guilt, is there anything that deserves your dedication more than seeking redemption and forgiveness? Stay safe and walk forwards, man.

As someone who dealt with grooming I find this as a right thing to do and can appreciate what the victim said and how string storm acted on trying to make things right even if it doesn’t treat the damage, if my abuser tried to do this I might even hear him
@weezact7

Agreed. Neither side tried to downplay what happened or the effects it had. It was weirdly mature for the internet, haha. You can't undo something like this. There is literally nothing you CAN do to "fix" it because you can't erase that memory or how it affects the victim. Similarly, the abuser (in the event they do feel guilty for their actions) can never erase the memory of what they did. All both parties can do is try to mitigate the negative effects of the situation and turn it into something as positive as they can. It's never going to be WHOLLY positive, but both parties can hopefully make something worthwhile out of it.

Agreed! Although I'm disappointed at SS for what he did, but compared to people like boyinaband, miniladd and so many others who try to downplay, belittle or even resort to victim blaming; it's honestly in a sad and twisted way, a breath of fresh air to see him own up to his horrible actions. He was willing to take punishment, he was ready to repent, no excuses, no self pity, but accepting accountability, and the consequences of his own actions. I hope he improves in the future.

Best recommendation I can give - try to get professional help to get at the root of the problem, if you can and aren't already. It doesn't retroactively fix things, but it might help prevent it going forward. The openness and honesty are always appreciated. Although, finding out what this was all about was mildly confusing, with the previous video privated. Might want to change that, for a bit at least. Less of a bad look. Edit: Well, I think I might've had a bit of a YT glitch, it's showing up now. Not sure if it was actually privated or it just disappeared because KZfaq's code is held together with duct tape and hopes and dreams.

@@accelerationquanta5816 I feel like I responded but I'm not seeing it. Weird. Anyway, uh, short version, to put it bluntly, taking sexual advantage of someone and possibly also grooming. Don't know why you're sticking around here instead of checking other comments or the video literally right below this one on his channel, but I've given up on actually comprehending the rest of humanity's decision making. That kind of behavior tends to come from somewhere, hence my original feedback of Stringstorm getting professional help dealing with it and not just asking the community to help keep him accountable. To be fair, he opened up about this himself, far as I can tell unprompted, which ks a good start. If the inciting incident is somehow not problematic behavior to you, then... I honestly don't know what to tell you or if it'll even matter if I try to do so, since at that point our world views are so utterly different and opposed that there's no reconciliation in some kind of ethical agreement. I am also keenly aware this is the KZfaq comments section, and there is approximately a 75% chance I'm being actively trolled right now, but that honestly isn't a massive issue to me.

I' ve been a long time listener to your content and warhammer in general, not just because of the wonderfull music you made, but because of the wonderfull community of Warhammer and other communities and fandoms i learned about by listening to your music. Although i never commented or interacted much with this community, considering myself a silent observer who just enjoyed the good wibes. I feel the need to comment on this day after this news. One thing i always tried to avoid with youtubers or content creators, authors, actors is a parasocial relationship because ive seen to many times how that thinking brings many bad things, even if not always malicious. Though il admit with Warhammer it held a special place in my heart and broke this self impossed rule, because of the passion and heartfelt dedication of this fandom and the people in it. To see that passion and good will being used by some one for their own selfish and evil ends is quite heartbreaking... but that doesnt mean that the the stories and art every person makes becomes evil or bad due to this. It is a reflection of the author in a way. And it will be hard to ever listen to anything you make without remembering what you did. Every time i listen to any of your songs, i will be reminded that it came from some one who did an incredibly wrong thing to someone who dint deserve to be manipulated and used because they loved a community and used this passion and good will that was built by everyone in it for his own ends. But that doesnt mean humans cant change. You seemed to understand what you did was wrong and apologised and i hope it is genuine, because it too often happens that it is not... I hope that you continue to create music, because when i listen to it now, while it is with knowledge of what you did, it is also with hope that the stories of hope and heroism and wanting to be better in them are genuine aspirations and that you will work on emulating them instead of the darkness each of us possessess. Also i hope you get professional help for it as while all of us have inner demons and can sucumb to them, we do not walk the path of life alone and you shoudlnt be afraid to ask for helpand seek to make amends, if you genuinely want to live up to the songs about hope and heroism you wrote about. That will be all im sorry if this is very long, but i wanted to say my peace on this.

Hell he's getting help now. Let's be real, nobody hears it from the person themselves until they are caught alor get leaked. At least this person came out and is making the decisions to deal with his mental issues. It is a shame that this happened, especially by a creator who is the ONLY ONE making this type of content. Agreed. Even if they DO forgive you, dealing with genuine guilt will require self-forgiveness. You can't control whether you get theirs or not. That is for them to determine based on how you handle yourself. You cannot "earn" it either. Forgiveness given in exchange for some kind of service isn't real forgiveness. You can take actions to try and convince them of your sincerity toward being a better person, but ultimately their forgiveness is something they choose to grant or not. The status quo is broken, you are no longer conpletely locked into the guilt, but it will take a lot to (maybe almost) completely getting rid of it. Again, I don't want to make it sound too good but your character redemption arc is starting now. Wishing bith the victim and you the best, you *CAN* become a better person. A reply to the last update as well as this one: This is, or at least is close to, the best one can do. If you have learned a lesson from this infection, if absolution is to be found, it is not in being guided it is in guiding. Make your pain of use to others who would fall from their path in similar ways. One can do this online. Better to speak to those around you with such needs, those you can see and hear and who know you in ways an internet community cannot. That would all be my suggestion, but outside other knowledge, in an era where most avoid responsibility this "least you can do" is actually commendable. We can wish for a world where it would be the base reaction where warranted. However, in terms of your harshness with yourself, replace wallowing with discipline and flaggelation with a fire to do more for the brothers and sisters around you. You waste your pain if you only make a bed of it. This is a deep cut, the scar will not fade, but do not lament it so much as cherish the reminder. These would be my suggestions and if it sounds preachy, I trust you'll forgive that my work as a chaplain is more an avocation than a vocation. I wish you well, have faith, carry fire.

You have talked to the person you have hurt. Now you must, always, try to do better. Get therapy so you can come to understand where your behaviors stem from and develop skills and strategies to help deal with them. You're already better than my abuser was/is by being upfront and honest about what happened. Many of us are busted, broken, hurt people. And it is Hurt People who often hurt people. If you are sincere, make that effort. If you're not, you need to leave. I'm rooting for you. None of us are perfect. We grow, and we change. I hope you change for the better. ((edited))

Overall I wish you luck on bettering yourself as that is a lifelong journey because well we're rather human and s**t happens.

I believe in redemption. I'd like to emphasize and summarize one thing said in the screenshots, " Forgiveness isn't earned by doing the right thing once, but by continuing to do the right thing over and over again. What you did was unforgivable, not by a long shot. But you are taking the right steps to forgiveness, that I applaud. I thank the person in the screenshot for being understanding, you have every right to be angry, but you acknowledged that SS was at least owning up to it and trying to make amends, I admire your toughness, and I wish the best life and the greatest opportunities waiting for you in the future.

I cannot say this is going to be a source of admiration because there is no room for that given the things that have been done. But this is at least deserving of respect. In this age of extreme emotions that seem to want anyone who commits a wrongs head on a plate this is as close as can be come to resolving such a situation in a reasonable way. No running, no defending the indefensible, he knows this might very well ruin his life and is fully accepting of the fact. Which is the most we expect of literally any one. He committed to closure for the victim before himself and that is respectable.

People very much have control over what they will be, if you keep up on this path (And consider getting professional help), you won't be that. That type of mentality however, will keep you as that. We are the sum of our actions. While awful things are a part of that sum, we can at least add lots of good to the sum too, and try to payback our dues for the parts we screwed up.

A humble suggestion: read up on the life of St. Moses the Black. We do not have to be who we were yesterday or who we are today. Forgiveness ideally should be given to people who sincerely strive to change, though it is not for us to determine who must forgive us our transgressions. Edit: seeking professional help is a very very good idea, as many here have expressed.

God bless you @StringStorm for being open. I hope you find this. I just found out about everything today. I know I can't relate with you or the victim but I can at least be there for you. I've been listening since Rylanor's Last Stand came out and I don't plan to leave you. I know this might not mean much but here goes nothing. We've all have done things we aren't proud of but you've been given a good life. That means you need to get up, learn from it, and let go of the pain. It's not healthy to hold onto this pain and guilt. I know you'll have to live with what you've done but you need to forgive yourself which is gonna be the hardest thing to do. Forgiveness isn't something earned or deserved but something given. God knows we don't deserve it and we certainly can't earn it and yet God gives the choice to accept his forgiveness. I agree with others about professional help. Not just for finding the problem but for your mental health. Also go to your friends IRL, they'll help you through this. They'll keep you accountable while supporting you. Now I could keep going on how you need to change but honestly I think I've ranted enough and I apologize for that. I hope this helps somehow. Your doing good String. I'd say I'm proud of you. I wish you the best and want you to know that I'll be praying for you. We're with you all the way String. You've got this.

Though his actions are unforgivable and horrendous, there is always you could, in some ways, redeem yourself. Such as you have, have remorse for your actions and do not denie them in ways that demine the victim in ways that relives past trauma and hurt them even further. Secondly, do not distance yourself from those you have hurt. Try and rebuild things even though they will never be like what they once were. If you do these things, you will get , though small, bit of redemption from your sins.

I do not know much about the situation and how serious it is, and I am also very naïve as a person, but I firmly believe everyone is able to be forgiven, you just have to show that you are deserving of it, which you are working towards now, as you seem genuinely remorseful and willing to change Of course, my forgiveness means nothing as I am not the victim, but they seem very supportive and understanding that you are trying to change However, I do not believe distancing yourself is the right course of action. I think seeking professional advice and guidance is a good idea to help you break those habits, but you also need to surround yourself with supportive people, and have as many social interactions in the right way in order to build good habits and help suppress the bad impulses, as distancing yourself does not do this and may end up with you slipping back into the bad habits I have only recently discovered your music and will continue to be subscribed and listen to it, as you make great music, and I believe you need all the support you can get on the gruelling and arduous road ahead of you But I would take all this with a grain of salt, as I do not know much about the situation and I am not a psychologist or pretend to know anything about people

Probably to avoid opportunistic people. Say, would you preffer to shoot your own hand, or let someone else do it for you? Let's say he kept these things private. Now, somehow, one of those drama youtubers discover it. Blows it out of proportion, and start adding things that are not factual to it. By that point, anything he says will be completally ignored. There won't be anyone willing to hear him anymore.

I will admit, I did not know or hear about anything regarding this situation until I saw the previous video just a few minutes ago. While my first learning of what happened did come from you owning up to your transgressions is admirable, I will not let it colour my opinion unjustly. I have not read the screenshots from the previous video description as I could gather context from other commenters and with that in mind I think I'd rather not see the screenshots right now. I am not an armchair psychologist or therapist, nor am I a lawyer or interventionist. I will not just say "get professional help" because that would just be repeating what others in this comment section and the previous have already suggested. All I can give is my own opinion, which is that I am unsure if I can, in good conscience, be an active fan of yours for now. I am not subscribed, but I will still every now and again come back to see how this channel is going and to read comments. If and when I can tell that things have gotten better and the community as a whole has moved on, I believe only then can I do the same. I genuinely hope that you can become a better person, the victim can heal, and that everything can be set right again. Until such a time, I will not be an active fan or supporter. For now, good on you for at least being honest about what you have done and said.

You know, im usually not one to easily forgive wirh stuff like this. But this whole situation feels like a needle in a haystack. You owned up to your past sins, minimized nothing, offered to make things right for the victim on their terms, and now seeking professional help to better yourself. It is not my place to forgive. And frankly, my view of you has been tainted, possibly permanently. That being said, unlike in maaaany other cases similar to this one, im actually cautiously optimistic that maybe you will truly be able to make amends and become a better person. Some people will never forgive, and i don't blame them for doing so. But given your proactive approach to the situation, i think you can still earn a second chance.

See in my personal case, I am not much of a people person never have been, I do still distinctively understand however what is definitively wrong this sort of thing being one of those examples, Normally I would be under the impression this is an entirely unforgivable offense...... However normally people don't personally own up to these things like you have, They try to bury them and when Karma catches up with them they try to save face with halfhearted apologies and false promises, Sometimes it works for some of their audience sometimes it does not, From my own experiences I have become fairly good at detecting a lie or so.... I do believe you are sincere in this however, So you have truly as many have stated gained a second chance from all this. I do hope you don't squander it get help if you need it, Work on recovery on such fronts.... if you are truly repentant for this then things will all proceed and move forward as they should, With that have a wonderful day stringstorm.
