thank GOD there is finally a voice in the 2000's that is expressive /articulate/sensitive/nuanced............a different voice but an actress as well as a divine singer

Chi l'ascoltava all'Arena di Verona poco tempo fa; è uscito...colmo di un'interpretazione che ha conquistato in questo ruolo nuove prospettive...interpretative ....da lasciare la mente i i ricordi di Altri Performace sull'ùscio sbiadito dei ricordi...indimenticabile... Artista che vive i ruoli in maniera algida e quelli Novecento li affronta con una padronza ..assoluta...che serata!!! Chapeau!

Unquestionably the finest performance of this aria I have ever heard!!! Hasmik’s voice shines with tonal strength and beauty, and her superb acting skills are matched by none!! We are so fortunate to have this lovely lady to showcase the insanely beautiful melodies in Madama Butterfly! Brava diva!!!!

I have listened to many fine artists perform this aria but none that impressed me as much as Asmik Gregorian. Her fresh voice and competent acting skills give a new point of view to this masterpiece of Puccini!

I just fell in love with this Butterfly !!! I don't know how many times I already listened to this and often in tears. Asmik is surely the best Butterfly in years. She is one of the best ever in my view.

I loved this interpretation. The tempo changes were new and dramatic to me. Refreshing from how I was taught to sing it.

La cosa es que el agudo en si es opcional, lo que necesita es el medio y el grave y es justo lo que por su naturaleza vocal no tiene.

I am not an opera connaisseur at all and I don't know much about voices but the finale is the best interpretation of this aria I ever heard. From 6:35 she conveys so much emotion and such drama. Simply. Sublime

Asmik Grigorian is grossly underrated! Why isn’t she singing at the Met?

She has said in a recent interview that her life is planned 4 years ahead, so, she is on demand anyway. She has got Female Opera Singer of 2019 award, I would not call her underrated. It is hard to get the tickets for her performance :-).

I am so rarely impressed by any performance of Cio-Cio San. The role needs to be both powerful -- in order to soar over the volume of the whole orchestra -- but also light and feminine -- in order to stay in character with the role. Maria Callas achieved this rare balance well. Now also here with Asmik Grigorian.

A Callas in the making. Thank God. Nobody will be Callas, but we need not live in a vocal tidepool devoid of this flashing being/fish/animal. She proves she can express the feelings of the hopeful Butterfly, from ecstatic joy to devastating pain of smashed hopes. Madame Butterfly April and May '24 at the Met.

I was there. It was amazing. You could almost see her voice filling every nook and cranny of the opera house. Agree with the Callas analogy. The only singer that, other than Callas, can make my spine tingle.
