Jesus 😯 Ditto. Same happened to me. I lost my fatherhood as i was on a low income and had to pay maintenance for years 😐 But, eventually i lifted my head up and now I'm a grandfather and closer than i ever was during my nightmare journey during a breakdown and suicide attempt. People need to be far more amiable and allow the other person to keep there head up.

My parents got divorced around the time this song came out. Might be why this song always clubs me in the feels. It's hauntingly beautiful yet nightmarishly close to real life sometimes. But I still love it.

As someone who has recently gone through a divorce and ending up with every other weekend with my child, this song/video hits hard. Brings me to tears every time. And I can tell you for a fact that it damages the child to be ripped away from one parent. Please support 50/50 shared parenting. It's the right thing to do for the kids.

You sound like a loving and devoted father Michael. Keep your head high and always check in with your child (on an emotional level). If they know you are there for them and they can lean and depend on you, then you've succeeded.

Im sorry Michael. Don't dread on our past. Look forward. Our history in a nostalgic sence is wonderfull but don't feel trapped in the past like i get myself into. We only live 100 years so make damn sure your child knows they feel fully supported no matter what.

Yes, unless one parent is dysfunctional and is a danger to the child, it should be 50/50. People can be vindictive though and want to hurt their exes. Unfortunate and you're really hurting the kid at the end of the day.

One of the greatest rock songs of all time. The guitar riff alone is iconic and has been sampled by dozens of other artists. A great tribute to music like Nirvana and Alice in Chains. A Classic tune and their best in my opinion.

Another great Puddle of Mudd song is She Hates Me And I had the exact growing up that Lex talked about. My parents spilt when I was about 5 years old. My dad moved to MD and we stayed in FL, so we only got to see our Dad in the summer. I hated my stepdad, and my dad hated my mom. It was always very rough as a kid to hear your dad talk so badly about your mom.

Which is why I never badmouthed my ex in front of my son. 30 years later ex tried to get in touch again and my son said F off. But that was he decision not mine. I guess after having his own kids made him realize that it was shitty for his dad to ignore him for 30 years. I had left that door open but ex never opened.

My son just knew his dad would talk shit about me. Ex's sister was always nice to me and son knew it so he allowed contact with her. I don't really know what she thinks of me but as long as she doesn't run me down it's cool with me. He remembers Aunt Dish fondly.

People can say what they want about Wes Scantlin's vocals and past behavior, but it's clear that he's an excellent songwriter with an ear for harmonies. I especially enjoy the vocal harmony in the pre-chorus of "Drift & Die." Also, though their albums Come Clean and Famous get all the attention, Life On Display deserves some attention too. "Away From Me," "Heel Over Head" and "Spin You Around" are all excellent songs, but for some reason they get lost among the songs featured on the other two albums.

@@spoderpoof383 not really, they weren’t from Seattle and nobody had any idea who they were, they were in a completely different part of the country and totally unknown during the grunge explosion and peak,by the time their first album came out in 97 grunge was pretty much close to dead and still nobody had ever heard of them, by the time their major label debut come clean came out in 01 and they got real popular grunge was totally old news. They weren’t actually part of the grunge scene and grunge was a thing of the past by the time anyone actually knew who puddle of mudd was. The main lineup of puddle of mudd didn’t even exist until like 2000 either. They totally fit into the post grunge scene and were clearly heavily influenced by bands from the actual grunge scene.

Funny that you bring up Godsmack as one of the "grunge influenced" bands. Their name literally comes from a song off of Alice In Chain's "Dirt" album. Their first album (maybe all of them, I dont know) used a sun logo that was almost identical to the sun logo on AIC's Dirt album also. Their song "Voodoo" was in that "doomy heroin song" vein as well....leading me to believe that none of it was a big accident.

Brad you got it right. He sounds very similar to Kurt Cobain of Nirvana (RIP), and many others think so.

Ah the early 00s. Being a student in Budapest, discovering new rock bands, spending all my cash in a crazy night in the casino except for rent and some money to buy food for my pet iguana lol. I know I’m not objective but I always thought we hit peak years as a humanity in the years between 1995 and 2005.

"I never thought of it from the dad's perspective". Welcome to modern America. I had to fight both families and the court system to get my son and strip her of her rights. Its a hell I hope my son will ever know.

Congrats on getting custody. It’s good to see a dad that wants their kid and the justice system seeing that they’re better off with their father. Doesn’t happen enough imo

The band former in 1992, and that's the year Grunge was becoming hugely popular taking over music. Their style has been called post grunge or nu metal. I see them as a rock band that has both grunge and metal influences. This song (Blurry), She hates me, Drift and Die, and Control are my favorite songs they sing. Check them out at some point!
