I recently got to spend some time at home, near where I grew up in Isabela, Puerto Rico, there really is no place like it…
I was able to host Mikey February and his family, as we have spoken for years about them coming down to hang and surf.
Mikey was filming for an upcoming project he was working on and when some of the premiere waves weren’t really on, and some other novelty locations were… I was able to twist his arm to go check out some of PR rare gems…
Well in my book any way…

@@DylanGravesYT been to PR a few times (which is a little rare for a west coast guy its a little far for us)- went with a buddy (kirk mcnulty RIP) started in san juan in summer, we had our boards but no idea where to go- we asked a cab driver where there was surf that time of year. "Isabela, ill take you" 5 hours drinking beer he dropped us off at a hotel in jobos "ill be back in 5 days to get you" was the best trip ive ever taken

I haven't surfed P.R.in decades. Isabela, Aguadilla were my main spots. I miss those waves. I can't wait to retire and move to P.R. I remember seen Dylan as a teenager. If Wildo was big, you could find him next door in Wishing Wells.

Very entertaining. I could feel the stoke and good vibes! You can surf waves around the world, perfect ones even, but there's something about cutting loose at home that nothing else can satisfy. And warm water, trunks, and a cold one to seal the deal surely is bonus. Makes for a good sleep. Great experience for Dylan, brother, and Mikey. Thanks for letting us tag along. I surf that shorey in the arvo with a couple cervezas on the beach. Just gotta look out for boulders. Everyone so friendly just grooving to their music, not a care in the world. Thanks for sharing!

Seeing this brought back the best memories i Used to surf La Selva as a kid with my dad. Being 10 years old with your dad at the secret spots was about as good as it got for being a kid. Was surfing dominoes wildo and inches at 12 years old thanks PR for the beautiful memories.

@@DylanGravesYT yep he was rad for sure. Many hours in the dingy spent searching for outer reef magic on the north coast. Waterman dads make life special for kids. This video hit perfectly for what surfing in PR was for me. Friends, family and endless sand all over 🤣🤣 dont know if any of these guys are still around but juan ashton , steve fitzpatrick and carlitos cabrera were regulars on our boat trips those guys especially juan was an OG PR shredder i was always impressed watching him surf

I really don't think, I ever noticed how much most other surfers (including myself) move their arms while surfing, until I watched Mikey February. Such a slick, explosive style. Buttons esque...? After spending 10 years in the Caribbean enduring 3 month flat spells and now living in Hawaii for 20, that music reminded me how grateful I am to be away. Listening to that shit every day emanating from the nearby Puerto Rican ho bar at all hours will drive you insane. Great sailing and diving though.
